Blood circulation is still wrong in my left foot.  I'm still on crutches until I feel able to support my weight on my left leg.  On the plus side, I can actually feel a tricep in each of my arms.  Who knew that I had those?!

The deep vein thrombosis is still there, but the blood clot is a lot less painful now because of the blood thinner medications that I've been taking.  I plan to return to work tomorrow... for as long as my leg can tolerate anyway.

It sounded like gun shots.  At least half a dozen of them. I had already gone to bed.  I couldn't limp to the window fast enough to see what was going on.  One of my landlords upstairs also heard the sounds and called the police.

I zipped up my shoes and grabbed a cell phone then hobbled outside on my cane.  No way could I be anything but a target to a hostile person, but I figured I could at least call an ambulance if I found a hurt person.  By the time I slowly reached the alley, the police car was already driving through to investigate.  So I turned around and came back inside.

Being poor is better than the alternative lived daily by a lot of Americans. We should try to move away from federal poverty level and minimum wage to the self-sufficiency standard.  Maybe it means raising minimum wage, or maybe it means a guaranteed minimum income.

I rarely dream, so I tend to write about them when it happens.  Reviewing the "dreams" tag on my blog, I had 4 dreams in 2012... and that's about average for me.

More accurately, I rarely remember my dreams.  It would be interesting to undergo monitoring just to confirm that I do have normal dream cycles during my sleep.  I assume that I do.  I've written before about a study showing it's typical that autistics infrequently experience dream recall.

No modern human population lacks dogs in its culture.  How did we reach this state?  I gave money to a crowdfunding project at PetriDish, and I got this photo as one of the perks.  They're collecting dna samples of dogs in Africa.  As we continue mapping the canine genome, it'll be interesting to see if we find any new evidence for co-evolution.

(Yes, I do #furryfriday instead of #caturday or #dogunday .)

Car repairs.  Yuck.  I'm too poor for this stuff.  I wish I could reliably commute by bicycle... or live close enough so I could walk to work!  The bus routes are horrible (> 4 hours one way for a < 10 mile trip), so that's not an option here.

My google-fu is weak.  Does anyone know where I can find a database of daily gasoline prices?  I would have thought the national government compiled statistics on typical items, but I can't find it.  How do they  compute poverty formulas if they don't know what stuff costs?

Here's another crowdfunding project on Kickstarter.  Does anyone remember Gas Powered Games from such classic titles as Dungeon Siege and Demigod?  Well, they've "bet the farm" on this Kickstarter project to create a new action RPG.  They need another $700,000 in 2 weeks, or GPG will go the way of Atari.

I'm not a fan of the U.S. medical establishment. I can't afford health insurance any more, any way.  Luckily, though, my health is finally returning to normal.
