So here's a question....

What do you do when you're shooting something but you're head isn't in it? I've shot at a ballet dress rehearsal for the last 2 years (this is the 3rd and I don't count the first year because I lost most of the photo to a corrupt card.) Last year's photos turned out well. This year I'm almost afraid to go through them. I played with Manual, AV , Program, CA, here and there because it was pretty dark this year, darker than in the past. In the end though my heart and my head were not in it. I'm pretty sure it will reflect in my work.

Goog thing they don't pay me to be there! :)

I'm just sharing photos to my stream for now - screw it! LOL I'm fairly confident at some point we'll be able to move (not copy) them back to the albums they belong with and the comments and plusses will go with them!!

What do you do when you have time at an airport (and can't have alcohol)??? Had a bit of time in Columbus, OH yesterday. I should have wandered more but got some editing done so that's ok.

Has anyone (surely someone must have) tried sharing a photo via link to the photo in an album to see if the comments and plusses stay with the photo that way? EDIT: ok never mind, just tried it and it linked to the whole album, not just one photo

I'm just really thinking of everyone tomorrow turning in their +Project 52 B&W shots - what a mess that will be. I know they are working on fixing it but thought this might work in the mean time.

So - trying it now - here is a link to my shot for tomorrow's #macrofeatherfriday since I don't know if I'll be on much tomorrow. Thanks to +Robin Griggs Wood & +E.E. Giorgi for hosting my favorite theme. I finally got back to shooting some feathers this past week, it's been too long!!

Ok, now I might just cry. One of my albums, one of my favorite albums - I can not find it. I've gone through each album thinking you know sometimes you just don't see them. Oh please let me know that it will reappear.

I was all ready to post a macro feather for tomorrow because I'm traveling and I missed last week or more I think. I go to upload....can't find my macro album!!

Woo Hoo - I can add photos to my albums this morning!!! Whew.

I posted Ryan with his birthday brownies yesterday just by uploading to a post directly to just test the waters. Yesterday I could not upload to existing albums. Today, thankfully that's been fixed! YAY G+!!

Ok - what's up? I tried uploading this photo to an album first. I've done it twice - when I click on Done it says 1 photo added - then I go to the album and there are still only 12 images in it. Where did it go? Twice? Am I the only one who is having an issue adding a photo from my computer to an existing album? (doubtful)

My step-son Ryan turned 21 this week - home made brownies were in order! Yum!

ok - yeah, its new. It's confusing. It's like someone came into your house and moved all the furniture around.

But it's also like taking the wrapper off a new phone, or learning where the controls in your new car are.

At the last upgrade people freaked out about everything too. Remember the whole White Space freak out?

Now people are complaining that the white space is gone.

BTW - I think this looks like the iPad app...

Anyway, take a deep breath. Relax. Think of it as an adventure. Have some fun with it. Explore it. Be mindful of the horrendous amount of hours put into it by the hard working Folks at Google.

Then, after a few days, think about how you feel. I bet it will grow on you.

Let's do something different and embrace change for once.

Finally!!! Finally I get to share this photo. I had to wait until the reveals for the Brown album were done by +Chrysta Rae +Chrysta Rae's Photography Scavenger Hunt before I could share this.

I got to meet +Ricardo Williams in person! As soon as I saw he wasn't going to be in the hunt I asked him if he would be my model for this category! He happily agreed. So, I drove 2 1/2 hours to meet him, shoot for maybe an hour and drove home. So worth it!! We had a lot of laughs in that hour and got some great shots as well.

So thank you Ricardo for being so agreeable and meeting me and for choosing an absolutely perfect location!!!

Shadows of our former Selves

So this is my 5th Assignment for Jake - He gave me the same assignment as +Matt Austin this time.

Take a portrait of a friend. Be creative.

At first I joked that I don't have any friends. But hidden in that joke is a bit of how I feel. I have friends, of course I do, but I rarely see any of them any more. This is just a little piece of a much larger struggle I've been going through lately. I won't go into the gory details that involve having gotten married and having to deal with a psycho ex who is relentless, taking on a special needs son and a son (they are twins) who doesn't speak to him, put those two together and it's a lot to handle.
