This is just a quick sketch of a female character that I am working on putting in a new painting of a cafe scene, done in a similar style of artist Edward Hopper's work, except in a different time period than his work. This sketch is so little, done on my drawing pad, and that's why it's not too well defined in this photo. I wanted to show this mainly for a couple of friends that wanted to see something that I'm working on. This character is only one out of 5 in the interior of the cafe scene, and I already have most of her painted. Anyways, I know it's not much to be seen as a sketch, but I thought that while I'm at it, that I would ad it to #figureativeartfriday curated by +Maude McDonald & +Melodie Douglas . :-)

I would like to enter this original painting of "Pain n Anxiety" into #figurativeartfriday ...because after looking at the edited one that I first posted last Friday, I just came to be more and more disappointed with it, for it looked like a cheap copy of sorts, of this original, and that was because I had used a pc painting program on it. But this original shows to me, to be more of a painting with real tubes of paint, which it is , rather than the cartoon-ish like one before. And I know that this is an unusual painting, but I wanted to remind myself of how miserable and hurting I really get when I am out of pain meds for my back that has been so severly damaged. This original one looks just like this, framed and on my wall and I hope people here will see the difference and understand why I wanted to post it again, but with this original painting instead. Thanks!

This is a painting that I did, of Bob Dylan, from several photos over his career. I never finished this painting and after the photo of it here, I made the background a nice olive color and finished with lots more detail in his face, and the flowers in his hat. But then someone wanted it so bad and so I sold it. This is my entry for #FigurativeArtFriday . Maude I hope this one will do for your Friday show of art.
