Taken on one of my first mobile photography outings with my new HTC One X in hand last November. Thought it was an appropriate image for this group.

This image was post processed on my PC using Gimp 2.8 as at that time I hadn't discovered all the amazing phone apps that are available.

Hi All,

Glad to be part of this community and looking forward to sharing some of my pics with you all and enjoying your shares. May not be too active over next few weeks as I'll be travelling in the Western Med and may not always have a connection, but hopefully I'll have plenty to share when I get back.

Image taken on my HTC One X.  I'm trying to get to grips with mobile photography as, although my real interest is in wildlife photography, I love always having a camera in my pocket.

Sleeping Dog
I've given my DSLR a bit of a rest lately while I've been experimenting with mobile photography. I'm missing the flexibility of using RAW when post processing but enjoying having a camera permanently at the ready. 

This is a shot of Gromit my 6 month old lurcher taking up more and more of the sofa everyday!

Monsoon Downpour, Piliyanda SOS Village, Sri Lanka

My first experience of monsoon rains. This one was quite short in duration, no more than 15 minutes, but quite torrential. Fortunately we managed to avoid being caught in one throughout our stay as mostly they occurred in the very early hours of the morning or while we were teaching indoors.

Door Knocker, Lindisfarne Hotel

Stayed in the Lindisfarne Hotel for two nights and would recommend it to anyone. Strictly speaking its rooms are let on a B&B basis rather than full board but we were given the friendliest welcome we've ever had at any hotel by Sean the proprietor and there are plenty of outlets on the island providing evening meals.

Its well worth staying on the island for a couple of nights because there is a totally different feel to the place when all the day visitors leave, to avoid being cut off by the tides, meaning far fewer people to get into your shots..

Arctic Tern in Flight

Another image that didn't turn out quite as sharp as I'd hoped. Applied FX-Foundry Vivid Saturation and Lichenstein effects in Gimp 2.8 and hey presto I have an image that could easily have ended up in the waste bin.
