I'm extremely late to this party, but I quite like the new Google+ layout. I haven't been very active in while because of Reddit, but this revamp could be just what I need to motivate myself to get back into the platform. Apparently there's an issue with white-space on HD screens, but at 1280 x 1024 it looks great. I say add a second column of updates if there's room.

Lisa Lampanelli (comedian) is a supporter of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community. When members of the Westboro Baptist Church protested a show she held on 20 May 2011 in Topeka, Kansas she promised to donate $1000 to Gay Men's Health Crisis for every protester that attended. After an initial count of 44 protesters she rounded the donation to an even $50,000, crediting the donation as being "made possible by the WBC."

Also, a small town did a similar thing where upon hearing the KKK would do a march there, they announced for every minute they were marching, $1000 would be donated to a charity for African Americans. They cancelled the march when they heard this.

The lesson here is that if you or your group have the money, it is easy to counter-attack hate groups in the most moral way possible.

The Church of Kopimism, a religion whose central tenet is the free sharing of information, has been formally recognized by the Swedish government.

Kopimists believe all information sharing is “holy” and that the value of information multiplies when it’s shared. They hold CTRL+C and CTRL+V, keyboard shortcuts for copying and pasting, to be sacred symbols of their religion.
