Well, we made good progress during the last few days.
As you can see radio, wifi and bluetooth are up. Both speakers are working and calling is also possible. Except via Headset. Srsly, wayne Headset.

Currently we're trying to get the Camera up and running. It hardly tries to come up and wants to say "Hello Cody" but somehow fails straight before it can do that.

Give us a few more days and CyanogenMod will rock your One like a boss!

My girlfriend is using windows phone for some time now.
Yes, i failed hard. I wasn't able to make her moving to the android platform.
Now that windows/android thing is a big problem for our relationship and i don't want to fight with her day by day because of this.
So i had to take a decision.
From now on i'll stop working on android and will start binhaxxing on the windows phone platform to make my girlfriend happy.

This means i'll no longer work on +CyanogenMod  and especially on my few samsung and sony phones.
It really hurts me but a man has to do what has to be done.

Now i'm trying to find new homes for my devices.
What about doing a little auction right now on Google+?

DISCLAIMER:  The "Hacksung" name of the application described here has nothing to do with "Team Hacksung".  Just pure (and to be honest, likely for such a name) coincidence.

Doesn't surprise me at all, nor does Samsung's response.  They always blame it on the carriers, even for delays on international unlocked devices that were purchased via direct retail.

hell yeah, cyanogenmod 10.1 is talking to my ext4 formated EXTERNAL sdcard which is handled via vold + fuse.

CyanogenMod 10.1 Considerations

Over the weekend we extended the release of nightlies for CM 10.1 to additional devices. These include:

# All Galaxy Nexus Variants
# All Nexus 7 Variants (including the GSM enabled 'tilapia')
# Transformer Infinity (tf700)
# Galaxy Tab 2 7.0
# Galaxy Tab 2 10.1
# Galaxy S (select models)
# Galaxy S II (select models)
# Galaxy S III (select models)

Now this means a lot of you will be upgrading from CM 10.0 and are likely to run into some common items when upgrading. Here are some of the major considerations:

# CM 10.1 is based on Android 4.2.1. Any and all proprietary applications that you have installed outside of CM should be updated to their 4.2.1 counterparts. Do not use the 4.1 versions of proprietary applications, else you will experience difficulties.

Das Ding ist unfuckingfassbar genial. :-D

Macht einen verdammt robusten Eindruck.
Extrem sauber verarbeitet, keine Lücken, kein Knarzen, alles passt einfach perfekt zusammen.
Das Display ist scharf und ausreichend hell, Farben wirken natürlich.
Sound ist schön laut. Haptisches Feedback weich und angenehm. Auto-Brightness hat scheinbar etwas von Project-Butter abbekommen, wirklich smooth. Tasten lassen sich gut drücken und sind abgerundet, kein unangenehmes Gefühl beim Drücken.
Ansonsten ist das Ding "fastasfuck" und hat mich wirklich erstmal vom Stuhl gehauen.

Ich bin schwer beeindruckt. Zur Camera und Sonstigem gibts später Infos.
Ich muss da jetzt erstmal CM drauf machen. :-D

P.S.: Das S3 kann sowas von nach Hause gehn. :-P

Having pretty nice evenings with +Espen Fjellvær Olsen and +Andrew Dodd on the #BigExynosHaxx0ry this week. :-)

Our Exynos 4 devices running Android 4.2.1 are smooth now. Not like a Galaxy Nexus, but probably as smooth as they we're with CM10.
Let's see what else needs some love.

All this has also a bad side: Think our reallifes got hit critically and died. :-(

CM 10.1 Status Update

So we continue to work through the merger of 4.2 code and our CM enhancements. A branch in our github repos called mr1-staging has been created to facilitate the merger and is the target for core CM items (not features).

mr1-staging is not meant to be compile-able, its only purpose is to be a staging grounds for our core work. Chances are, it is useless for independent builders.

CM 10.0 (4.1.2) code is in jellybean-stable, if you are working on a bug-fix for the last stable release, patches should be submitted against that branch. If/when we do another 4.1.2 release (ie CM 10.0.x), it will originate from code in this branch.  

Once staging is done in mr1-staging, we will push all that code to a 'CM10.1' branch, and eventually back to our primary 'jellybean' branch. This process is in place to make sureth... more »

The Saga of a CyanogenMod Exynos4 device maintainer - The SGH-I777 Touchwizz days

Well, here comes the second part of my saga, which started with https://plus.google.com/u/0/101093310520661581786/posts/cdPnNjLAb4F .  I'm a little tired, and my memory is semi-vague in regards to this era, but it is the time when I started to see the truth of Samsung's developer friendliness.  I bought my Infuse, and the I777, based on the perception of developer friendliness put forth by Samsung's donation of I9100 units to the CyanogenMod team, and their hiring of Steve Kondik himself in August 2011.

Finally i managed to kill the SATA2 Controller on this horrible Gigabyte board (P67A-UD3P).

How to do?

Took me exactly 20 months. :-D

What did i loose?
Just windoze and the ability to use optical discs. Who cares?
