Let me get this straight.  The Government grants itself special "powers" to monitor communications of its citizens.  The US Senate asks "how many people inside the United States have had their communications collected or reviewed..."  To which the NSA responds " an IG review of the sort suggested would itself violate the privacy of U.S. persons"....  WTF?

South Africa hates that Die Antwoord represent their country, which is just the way they like it. These two make Lady Gaga look mainstream. But there's a lot to what they're doing. You can dismiss it as shock, or you can see that there's an intention to this. But once you see a few videos, it's worth checking out the interviews. They have some interesting perspectives.

A truly sad and disturbing day. I am sure that the US Government has executed people in the past behind closed doors. To me this shows the Government knew it was acting outside the law. Today, The US Government under orders from the President executed a US Citizen in violation of the fifth Amendment to the Constitution. "nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law"

This was done in the open. The President said he was a bad man and should be killed. Then the order of execution was carried out. This President doesn't even think it is wrong.

I am not making any claims to the guilt or innocence of the victim. He was a US Citizen, was not in a war zone, never indicted on any crimes, not an imminent threat to the US and murdered. No attempt... more »

An eye opener. I'm still a capitalist but would like to remove the whole "corporations are people" status. Corporations should not have a voice in Government. Only the people. If the shareholders wish to support a candidate they should. However, corporations shouldn't be able to contribute or run ads for politicians.

Is the fact that Google is shutting down so many test services, making you less likely to try new services in the future? I rely on many "free" Google services. They can shut them down at any time. Is "free" and "ease of use" any good if we can't rely on it to me there in the future?

A British Student who hasn't been to the US in over 10 years, hosts a website which provides links to pirated files. The server is not in the US. ICE takes over the .com domain because the US claims all .com and .net are under their control. Now they want to extradite him to face criminal charges!

I remember a simpler time when civil courts handled minor copyright claims and not the Department of Immigration and Customs.

Who would have thought that the US was flush with cash and could waste money going after UK college kids.

Most companies who generate 97% or their revenue from advertising would consider themselves and advertising company. I admire Google for believing that the way to grow their revenues is to take care of their users and not the people who "pay the bills".

Don't get me wrong, they want the ad revenue but not at the cost of losing users.
