For those that doesnt know there are a two ways to change two columns display layout to single column display layout.

First to setup stream to be one column only go into your home stream page click on more, for more circles and scroll down to the end of list of your circles and your saved searches. Down you have option stream layout just change it to one column.

Also for communities you have option on account >> google+ >> Accessibility >> "Change the presentation of some pages to work better with screen readers and other assistive tools."
check that and you will have everywhere single column stream.

We've always known that Linux is faster than Windows -- hundreds of supercomputers and God alone knows how many high-frequency stock traders can't be wrong -- but it interesting seeing a MSFT developer admitting to it and explaining why he thinks it's so.

1. Linux "sl" command

From the man page: "sl - display animations aimed to correct users who accidentally enter sl instead of ls."

$ sudo apt-get install sl
$ sl
(see image)

Animated steam locomotive loving across the screen from right to left. One can play a prank on someone by:

$ alias ls=sl

2. Linux "yes" command

From the man page: "yes - output a string repeatedly until killed"

$ yes linux

$

Why would we want a command to keep on printing a string all the life of the process? We can use "yes"... more »

Fascistic USA government should burn in total Internet started Revolt and Revolution. This charge for hacking IBM mainframe is created just to ease the extradition of Gottfrid to the USA. But weather the internet have the strength to ones more defend its heroes ? What happened with the hashtag revolt ? Is the all ppl, all pirates, who would protest against this sort of attacks already locked down or tired ?
This is really sad moment at least for me. I hope that reactions against this falsified attacks will soon rise.

He is already for more than 4-5 months in Swedish prison and he is in solitary confinement almost whole day every day.

Use any Linux as hypervisor to run completely isolated (own filesystem, network, config, ...) containers for your programs/services/whatever. Start/stop programs from outside, freeze, move to another machine, continue running....

You may even start them instantly on demand, e.g. at network I/O to save resources for rarely used services: Simply use standard inetd, xinetd, launchd ;-)
