My attempt at getting a shot of the beautiful moon we had tonight. I'm beginning to experiment more with settings and although I have a lot to learn, I have to start somewhere. I had to get out the ladder and climb up on the roof of my shed to get this shot, but it was fun. I can't imagine what my neighbours were thinking, but I was giggling away to myself thinking about their thoughts.

Beyond the cross at Holy Year Cross lies an almost forgotten land, where old cottages have fallen to the ground and grass and moss have engulfed the stones. Sites like this fascinate me as in my head I try to imagine living in such a remote place and then I wonder who those people were. This place is so green and yet so enchanting.

Bunmahon, Co. Waterford. I only got to spend half an hour here, but this place is truly magical and I can't wait to go camping here next summer. I knew when I took this shot that I would convert it to B & W when I got home. Little did I know that when I got home, I'd end up forgetting about this shot. It is only recently that I came across it and did the conversion. I would love to build a little cottage along this coastline and retire here.

t's been a while since I've picked up my camera and pointed it at myself. Since Christmas, life has thrown all kind of knocks at me. I'm currently recovering from a head and face injury, a broken heart and much more. So I decided to capture one of those darker moods that I was in when I didn't want the world to see me.  Ellie Goulding's song Explosions says it all in these few short lines.

"I've fallen from grace
Took a blow to my face
I've loved and I've lost
I've loved and I've lost

Explosions on the day you wake up
Needing somebody and you've learned
It's okay to be afraid.

But it will never be the same
It will never be the same"

Why stand at the gate and shoot the whole field, when you can climb the gate and find the little things of beauty that make up that whole field. Like pieces of a Jigsaw every little thing has a place.

The beauty of life is not how good things look, it is a feeling that can only be felt and sometimes seen on the faces of those feeling it. The sea, fresh air, nature and everything about it, is where I feel whole, free and at home.

I took this shot at Dungarvan, Co. Waterford, during a college trip. I can't wait to return to spend a weekend here.

I'm Back!!!!!!   I've been neglecting my G+ account lately, but only because life has been soooooo busy. Last September I began with the greatest of fear an Art Portfolio course. I had never drawn, sketched, painted or had an interest in doing so, but in order to get the course in college that I want, I have to have an art and photography portfolio, and so my choice was simple, I had to do it. Here is my first ever attempt at Life drawing using charcoal and white chalk.

Although it will never hang in a gallery I am on a journey of self discovery. I have a lot to learn but I really can do anything I put my mind to. I am no longer afraid to try new things and I am going to stick at it because I can only get better at it. So for those of you out there thinking about trying or doing something new, push that fear aside and just go for it, life is too short not to :-)

Nature is never dull or boring. No matter what the season is, there is always something amazing to be found. Nature is like people, you just have to be willing to open your eyes and look harder or further than normal.

The colour was what attracted my attention to this boat and the reflection of the building on the water. Cork city is full of surprises when it comes to possible photography shots. I can't wait to return for a day with my camera.

Cork city looked so different today, and all because I wasn't running from shop to shop buying clothes, shoes or make up. I was a woman on a mission, and that mission was to visit as many colleges as possible in the shortest possible time, so that I could get some shots of the city. Here is one I managed to squeeze in.

Clonmel has become my home from home. With the passing of each day I fall deeper in love with this town, it's people and my life here. Life has been testing of late but still my love of photography and art grows. In the back ground is the steeple of St. Peter's and St. Paul's Church, but the main focus is on St. Mary's Church.

I promised you some shots of my first ever attempt at sketching. Here is a sneak preview of what I'm working on right now. I have never done art before and was really apprehensive when I signed up for the Art Portfolio course. There is a lot of work still left to do with this sketch, but I am getting there, might I add, very slowly.

If anyone has any tips for me, please feel free to share them with me, as I really am a beginner and have so much to learn.

Looking at life a little differently often means, stooping down, bending over, crawling, climbing and getting into positions other than standing or sitting. But it's definitely more fun when you look through the camera from different levels and different angles. When we were children the world was like a massive playground with lots of fun things to do and explore. Take the time to let your inner child out to play and bring your camera along with you, you'd be surprised how differently the world looks.

The weekend is almost upon us all. What a week it's been. I have finally found what I was born to do. I am loving every second of college and the Art and Photography course.

This is a shot of St. Canice's Cathedral. It was built in the 13th century and is the second largest cathedral in Ireland. The cathedral is crusiform and English Gothic and was built of limestone. It has black marble colums. The round tower is 100ft, and is 9th century Celtic christian. It really must be seen to be appreciated.

Tuesday was my first official day of college, and we got to go on a school trip to Kilkenny, Co. Kilkenny. Our mission was to capture Nature v's Architecture and to find examples of containers, stripes, repetition, abandoned, loved, lost, pattern, chaos and order. We were also told to take notes and gather information. Before we left the bus our tutors handed us a map of Kilkenny, and highlighted were 3 places of interest (tutors choice).

We had to navigate our way through the town/city using the map and complete the tasks assigned to us, in less than 4 hours. Myself and my classmate and new friend Clodagh walked for miles, we shared stories and experiences along the way and before we knew it we were the best of buddies. I took just under 250 shots in that 4 hours, our legs were sore and tired by the time we made our way back to the bus. Mission accomplished. The bridge in my shot is... more »

A few weeks ago I went to visit my cousin in Glenamaddy, Co. Galway. On the Sunday I was due to go home she ended up in hospital having an operation. She shattered her knee cap and while she was having the operation to replace her knee cap, I walked from Galway city to Salthill. This is a shot of the diving board at Salthill. It is a beautiful place, and I was glad of the fresh air.

It's +FloralFriday and the weekend all in one. Happy weekend everyone, I hope you all have a wonderful time. The weather here in Ireland has been absolutely amazing this past week. I took this shot of a Lilly yesterday. During the week I was delivered a beautiful bunch of flowers, Roses, Lilly's and Angels Breath, the card with them said "Seasons may change, but my love for you will always stay the same." I haven't a clue who sent them to me, nobody signed the card. But they brought a smile to my face as they took me completely by surprise. Thank you whoever you are.

Tomorrow I start in College, I am about to embark on a new adventure. I'm chasing my dream and it starts with the course I got accepted for. Tomorrow I begin the Arts and Photography course year 1. I'm a little nervous because Art is not something that comes to me naturally, that bit will be a challenge, but I don't mind, I'm looking forward to it.

Today was my last weekday of freedom, and the sun came out in all it's glory, so I went on a 12 mile hike. Every inch of it was pure enjoyment. I revisited places that looked dull in the rain, but I knew that with sunshine they would look amazing. The farmers have been busy and this was a field along my hike that takes my breath away in rain, hail or shine and even night. The cows in the background are fully grown adults, so you can begin to imagine how enormous the tree really is.

Here's to a brighter future :-)

Playing with my children has become a hobby I have now combined with my love for photography. Hide and seek is so much fun, but has made me look at the world through my children's eyes, you really should try it some time.

This one is lyrically inspired by The Rasmus's song "In The Shadows".

"I've been watching
I've been waiting
In the shadows all my time
I've been searching
I've been living
For tomorrows all my life"

Finally the sun has returned and shined in all it's spectacular colourful glory upon us. It's such a shame the kids are all back in school. Here is a shot I took at the end of our estate. The sun was beginning to bow down and set for the night. I was playing hide and seek with my kids and their friends. It's amazing how differently things look, when you're hiding in bushes, hiding in the shadows and being a big kid. I'll take my camera with me every other time I play this game with the kids in future. This one I called "The Sunny Shady Street". It's a bit of a contradictions in terms, but the picture says it all. Happy Wednesday everyone :-)

The summer is officially over once the kids return to school. The house has gone from a beehive of activity to being quiet. The house is staying tidy and far too quiet for my liking. I loved every minute of the summer because I got to spend the time with my children. Here is a shot of my daughter on her first day back at school.

I just love the Selfy Sunday Project which is the baby of +Jeff Smith  and +LaDonna Pride and the hundreds of other photographers that make it such a fun and epic event. There was no theme this week, but I chose my favourite plant in the whole wide world as my inspiration. Ivy, I love that ivy can grow wild and free and clings on for dear life, I love the varied colours and sizes. I love how it takes root and climbs its way up, wrapping itself around everything to get support. The first shot was my pic of choice for this weeks ssp but the other 2 were outtakes that I liked too. Have a great day everyone :-)

Did I ever tell you "I love clouds". They never bore me. This shot was taken down the road from my home during a pretty spectacular sunrise a few weeks ago. I'm going to give +Ministract Monday and   #MinimalMonday  a shot out for this one.

I hope you are all having a wonderful day :-)

Happy Tree Tuesday everyone.

Oh how I miss you when you're gone. My body is craving for your warm touch on my pale Irish skin. How I ache to feel your heat. Please come back and quench my need.

Where have you gone, I need you now. I'm sick of all this rain, and need you to shine, if only for a day.

This one is for +Tree Tuesday  and the beautiful ladies +Christina Lawrie and +Shannon S. Myers

A red sky at night a shepherds delight,
a red sky in the morning a shepherds warning.

Rain, rain, rain and more rain. That's what our Irish summer has been like so far, but with sunrises like these I'm smiling. The morning I shot this I was on my way to the train station, by the time I had got to my destination, the heavens opened and it rained for the duration of my little getaway. I hope you  all are having better luck with the weather.

It's good to be back. Life is never without a challenge, be it good or bad, but every new day starts with a new dawn.

During a sleepless night I looked out the window to see the most amazing sky I have ever seen. How I wished it had lasted longer as I ran around trying to capture every colour and feature. Here is one of the many shots I took that morning. I will never again complain about a sleepless night :-)
