A cool little gif showing Saturn's moon Prometheus dipping into the F ring and pulling out a streamer of ice particles. It does this constantly over the course of its wave-shaped orbit around Saturn!

The images in the movie were acquired by the Cassini spacecraft narrow-angle camera on Nov. 23 and 24, 2006. The movie sequence consists of 72 clear spectral filter images taken every 10.5 minutes over a period of about 12.5 hours.

    Lunar terminator from data i shot on December 2nd 2011 this image features three of the Apollo landing sites that i labeled in second image.Shot with a 114mm f8 and Canon point and shoot this image is 60 frames stacked in Avistack 2 with post processing in GIMP 2

I was chasing Arp galaxies last night.  I was in Leo and jumping from one to the next after 8 - 10 shots (binned 2x2).  When I was ready to call it a night, I left a sequence running on Arp 317 (a.k.a NGC 3623) and framed it with NGC 3627.  This is 2 of the 3 known as the Leo Trio.  I haven't fully processed it, but this is the rough combine and small JPG version.  Great night for imaging!

An impressive Filament erupted near central Meridian between AR1680-1681 at 09h30UTC provoking a sweet long duration chromospheric brightening structure due to a double ribbon C-Class Flare. Only combined SDO/AIA wavelenghts 193-211-304 are available, no AIA171 as no LASCO (09h00-11h00) but potential CME signature.
Note: Filament Eruption observed in the same coverage time on southwest limb.

Comet PANSTARRS captured from Cleveland

Took the kids outside today and we were finally able to catch an image on PANSTARRS and the waxing crescent moon!  We were so excited.

It's such a great shot I'm sure +Jason Major or +Fraser Cain will feature it on +Universe Today.
