Skylights

this was actually the last picture I took on the weekend I spent in Switzerland with my friend +Nicolai Neijhoft, maybe it's the best one I got there. The area around the sun is being swallowed by too many whites for my opinion, but I could not correct that in post-processing (at least not quickly ;-)) However I am pretty happy with the rest.

I acutally wanted to process this one in colour, but as it your day I decided for a monochrome process for Tee Kay, or to put in different words .. "Juve" colours for Diego :-)

about the picture:

this is my first capture of the visit at my friend's +Nicolai Neijhoft  incredible place at #Walensee in Switzerland. I guess this picture will not fit into the categorie of being "very well balanced". The natures' dramatic just did not make it possible. Heavy cloud movement and fog moving from the lake towards the beack ... hope my process makes this somehow visible :-)

hello g+ friends and sorry for my recent inactivity, but I am quite busy which will continue for a a bit unfortunately.

so this a shot that I took this week with my snowboard/glove-tripod combination in the Austrian alps. I was quite lucky to find this postcard-like valley with perfect sun conditions ... the circle arount the sun was really there, this is no photomanipulation or anything alike :)

I actually did not have much time to process here either, more sophisticated versions still to come ...

Bokeh of NATURE ' (best viewed large!)

one thing I really like about macro shooting is the unsharp region of the pictures, the bokeh is just a lot nicer than with any other of my lenses. this one was shot early morning with low-standing sun reflecting the dew on the grass

Like in (photographer's) heaven

this photo is one of the results of the #stuttgart #photowalk, which took place last Saturday. It shows the interior of the Stuttgart public library. This was the final stop (at least for me) on the walk and definitely a highlight on the tour as we weren't particularly lucky with the weather.
I actually drive by this location twice a day, but never happened to get close. It is really a perfect spot to shoot both from the inside and outside. I've already seen many great photo's from there primarily from +Klaus-Peter Kubik, which served as perfect insipiration.

So I would like to say thanks to all the people that walked and to +Frank Schillinger  for setting it up. It was big fun and I am looking forward for a repetition with sunshine and at least some clouds (not just a single gray one ;-)) It was a pleasure to meet you all in... more »

Snow leopard portrait

I always have "mixed emotions" when pictures pictures of large animals that I shot at the zoo.
I love to go there especially with my kids that are simply too young to fly to the destinations
where many of the animals can be seen in wild ...

Most of the animals seem to have a good life there, however for some I am just not sure, if their areas in the zoo are too small.

... and I don't know if your understand my problem :-)

Lonely sunset surfer

Still can't accept the fact that is winter now and need to watch and share pictures from sunnier times. This one was shot as many of previous images at the coast of Belek, Turkey a few weeks ago.

The highest church tower of the world

this is a 30 second exposure of the Ulmer Münster using the Tamron 17-35mm/2-8 on EOS 5D

my postprocessing of this is rather awkward:
- From the RAW image 1 exported 3 JPGs with different exposures (- 2EV, 0EV, + 2EV)
- With those exposures I generated a fake HDR using #luminancehdr   and the #Fattal  Operator
- I set the saturation to 0 and there it was
