This piece of art was created by Corewebworks, and was provided to Phoenix circle for analysis. However, this analysis is based solely on the Phoenix Circle’s interpretation and may not include the author’s exact intent. First of all, there are two quotes, and two photos that are connected by red and blue bands. The blue and red bands often symbolize the concept of disintegration and integration in other Corewebwork’s pieces. This is the idea of synthesizing opposing or contrasting views together in order to arrive at a wider perspective. The greek god in the top photo appears to be towering over the diver below. Perhaps the greek god is attempting to communicate some truth to the person on earth below. The earth diver appears to be searching for a fish, which could mean he is hunting for truth, whereas the greek god is communicating that truth directly to him through the interconnected-dualistic color... more »

Good luck and Good Night was a great film. It revolves around the Movement in the US lead by US politician named McCarthy, who led a communist witch-hunt within the US. This movement destroyed the reputations and careers of many men, many of whom only flirted with the communist ideology in casual conversation. Others in Hollywood who were feared to influence the public with communist supporting art were forced out of the industry by blacklisting of powerful celebrities. Many celebrities in Hollywood jumped on the hysteria of this political movement. What I like about the film is the energy throughout. The journalist and media who challenged McCarthy risked everything to debunk him. They risked their careers, their reputations and even their lives. And so the overwhelming anxiety and fear of losing it all permeates throughout the entire film.

I'm not saying that conspiracy theories never happen, I'm sure there have been cases, but one cannot be absolute certain, and there is a movement in the US that wishes to turn every great tragedy into a pre-calculated plot by rich super-villains. After awhile, it all starts to sound like something out of a comic book. Because it is easier to believe in super evil rich men pulling the strings behind the scenes that to believe that there is an element of unpredictability, irrationality, insanity, chaos, etc..as part of the basic human condition.

Sheldrake's 10 dogmas of science that he discusses are:
1) Everything is essentially mechanical
2) All matter is unconscious
3) The total amount of energy and matter is always the same.
4) The laws of nature are fixed.
5) Nature is purposeless
6) All biological inheritence is material.
7) Minds are inside heads and are nothing but the activity of brains.
8) Memory is stored in material traces of the brain.
9) Unexplained phenomena such as telepathy are illusory.
10) Mechanistic medicine is the only one that really works.

Adding additional material responsibilities to ones life often begets higher levels of anxiety. The key is to negate what is not needed, while zoning in on what is possible.

One of the worst mental delusions of our time is that most terrorists sincerely believe that they are freedom fighters.

#prayforboston A terrorist is someone who believes that by causing harm to the innocent that this somehow helps to further their cause. One promotes a cause by bringing awareness to it, not by targeting associated enemies of a cause, and dealing physical harm.

If we want bullying to end in schools, an awareness day is not enough, there needs to be guest speakers in schools who discuss the psychology of bullying, and teach students to see their suffering caused in the eyes of the other through the empirical art of confession.

if everyone in the culture took critical observations within the culture seriously, I'm sure the culture would transform overnight. However, the problem is that it is only a minority who are critical, and only a minority are listening.

Strong men show their greatest strength right before death, especially if they are dying of some terminal illness - They behave like business as usual, they don't ask for recognition, they don't get stuck in cycles in self-pity and other emotional states, they find what positivity is left in the situation, and keep doing what it is they love to do...as if they will live forever.

A writer plays with possibilities, not only for himself, but for others and the world, and in trying to find his voice, he explores the voice of other people, and he finds everything is not suited for in his pursuit of what he is suited for. A man's knowledge of what he doesn't excel at is important because it prevents him from living with an illusionary fantasy for a long time. It is much safer for flirt with possibilities then to hope for a particular result for oneself, and invest a lot of emotion into that result.

With the gay marriage movement across the US, we are beginning to see that it is becoming harder and harder for any particular special interest group to regulate the lives of those who do not belong to that group. My view is that people can believe what they want, but they shouldn't have the authority to micromanage the lives of others who are opposed to their view. People should be free to make their own decisions and choices based on their own values or predispositions, and the laws should be economically fair, which they are not for gay couples. Another major victory for liberalism.

give a man power and he'll offend the collective by taking more for himself at the expense of others, give a man subjective freedom and he'll disappoint the gods by not taking advantage of it.

One of the only films I know of that attempts to set the backdrop of the entire film to Nietzsche's idea of eternal recurrence. Although, my only criticism is that they choose the genre of action thriller to set the plot, which makes the lives of all of the interconnected individuals a bit too violent, scandalous and brutal than what the average person probably experiences in a developed nation.

The mob turns collectively violent very fast because the energy of the crowd overwhelms each individual, whereas one single mind is less likely to resort to violence because all they have is their own mind, and having to rely only on their own mind, there is a greater chance of the flight response taking over, or less likely - reason and their conscience overpowering their predisposition towards violence.

Written for another post - In my opinion, the behavior of higher mammals are so close to our own that it cannot be easily dismissed - dolphins have been known to save humans from shark attacks or bring humans back to shore if they were struggling. Dominant alpha male apes have been known to fight other predators to the death, and sacrifice themselves to ensure the survival of the tribe, elephants have been known to hold funeral like ceremonies when a member of their group passes, and whales have been known to return to initial courtship meeting places alone years after an encounter, like some sort of nostalgic longing for the past....How then in good conscience, can humans place themselves at the top of a preferred spiritual hierarchy? In contrast to western style religions, Native religions actually viewed the animal kingdom in spiritual terms, animals were like metaphors for human behavior, symbols f... more »

Many IT companies are attempting to revamp their internet services, and intergrate them all together. IE: Microsoft has recently overhauled hotmail, switching it over to outlook.com and combining it with other services such as Skype and SkyDrive. Google has made similar moves by combining its social media site, gmail, youtube, etc all under one taskbar at the top of your internet browser. However, I believe facebook still holds the biggest crowds due to its early dominance in the social media market. One way that google could move ahead is if they create a software version of A.I similar to IBM's Watson that they could integrate into their services. If IBM was smart, they would licence 'Watson' to multiple players instead of just the medical industry, as it has unpredicable consequences to how the internet could operate. I would like to see a "Watson" A.I integrated into go... more »

Dear Friends,
The philosopher Epictetus(AD55-135) wrote:
"People are not disturbed by things, but by the view they take of things."
If you look closely, you will find that by far the greater part of any unhappiness in you is created not by situations, but by what your mind is saying about them. It's created by the self-talk in your head. Such dysfunctional thinking strengthens the ego, but it weakens you. How to end it? Meet situations and people without judgment. Don't indulge in mental movies about past and future. Give your fullest attention to the present moment without mentally labeling it. This is the arising of Presence, a new state of consciousness that frees your mind from its old conditioning. This new consciousness will give rise to a new world.
With love
Eckhart.

Mapping the empirical world through description is based on assuming that the natural logical laws that have always operated are still operating in a similar manner. For instance: Any thing must naturally arise through cause-effect processes, and nothing can magically appear without some previous relationship to reality. That is why the secularist community is so hard on some of the religious community who invoke the supernatural to explain natural phenomena. The supernatural is just not needed, but I'm not rejecting the existence of mystical or metaphysical experiences occurring within consciousness, but when it comes to explaining how things arise in the natural world, there must be a logical process involved.

Written on another post: I tend to side with the scientists and philosophers who suggest that 'nothing' is actually a logical impossibility, there appears to always be something, although there maybe a lack of something within a particular space, IE: there is nothing in my wallet at the moment, but there maybe money in my wallet in the future, or there is money somewhere in the universe, so it only means there is a relative nothing, and not an absolute nothing. Yes, it seems that an absolute nothing is a logical impossibility.

I have tried to grow raspberry canes at a few locations with mixed success. The canes that grew the best were the ones that had a bit of shade, and the soil wasn't totally dried out. From my experience, Arid soil conditions tend to burn out the vines affecting the quality and quantity of the berries. The canes also have an advantage over other plants because they grow high, and therefore many of the plants that grow closer to the earth do not have the ability to choke them out. Basically, the plants that rise closer to the sun do not have to worry about competition, whereas the plants left closer to the earth must fight for their right to survive, aggressively growing in all directions to compensate for their lack of height. One might say that if one compares the raspberry to lets say the strawberry, both berries live according to two totally different realities.

Narcissism can be taken to such an extreme obsession that the narcissist goes beyond himself in his obsession with the self. Basically, one can only bounce around for so long inside of a bubble before the bubble pops.
