Eldon Hill Quarry, Derbyshire
The hill's name comes from the Old English language and means Elves Hill, as many years ago people believed that elves lived in the many potholes and caves on the hill. In 1285 the hill was called Elvedon, which sounds very Lord of the Rings.

I am appalled and horrified that this has been passed by the U.K. It affect the whole World. People like myself, +Trey Ratcliff & +Thomas Hawk who HATE watermarks will have to really think hard about adding them now.
I have always ensured that the IPTC is set in my images, but I have noted that it has been stripped when images have appeared elsewhere.. which makes it useless against this
I don't know what we can do to stop this....

Facebook has lost millions of users per month in its biggest markets - 6m US visitors and in the UK 1.4m fewer users checked in last month.
The declines are sustained. In the last six months, Facebook has lost nearly 9m monthly visitors in the US and 2m in the UK. Users are also switching off in Canada, Spain, France, Germany and Japan, where Facebook has some of its biggest followings

For creatives this is a disaster and according to the article Google are partly to blame.
So it looks like from now on photographers will have little choice but to watermark their photos and works using Creative Commons may also be affected and swept up as for sale by some sort of licensing agency, yet to be created

We train and equip freelance journalists in all media to treat life-threatening injuries on the battlefield. Freelancers comprise the vast majority of those who cover wars, and consequently make up the vast majority of deaths and injuries. Surviving a gunshot or shrapnel wound is often a matter of doing the right thing in the first few minutes, and our training focuses on that brief, critical period of time. It is our hope to make first aid training the industry norm - like having a flak jacket or sat phone - and to prevent unnecessary deaths in a job that is so vital to human dignity and human rights.

Australian photographer charged with “disorderly behavior causing offense” for street photography
The last few years have seen many photographers in the United States run into police trouble for photographing the wrong building or place, but generally street photography of people has remained free of hassle. But in Australia, a photographer has just been convicted of "disorderly behavior causing offense" for legally photographing someone in public, simply because the person being photographed didn't like it.
