This is an image from high up in the backcountry of Grand Teton National Park. This image was shot at sunrise from behind the Tetons. There is much to explore up there, and I'm looking forward to going back this year. Many techniques used in this image are demonstrated in my image editing videos:http://www.chipphillipsphotography.com/Other/Videos/21945010_GhtPKD
Also does anyone know how to make it so images appear full size in the stream? This one was uploaded at 1200px, but doesn't seem to be appearing full size.

"Death Valley Dune Storm"
I took a visit to Death Valley for the first time last week. While up in the dunes, this crazy wind storm came barreling through right around sunset. I took cover for most of it, but fired off a few hand held. The original file was quite flat compared to this finished version. I used many of the techniques I go through in my set of videos that I just released, to increase contrast, adjust color, etc. (Check my website: chipphillipsphotography.com if you want to check those out)
I learned NOT to camp in a three season backpacking tent during a wind storm in the sand dunes-you desert rats know all about this I'm sure, but I leaned this the hard way. I am still picking sand out of my ears. The wind was up most of the night and we were literally coated in sand. Can't wait to go back! Thanks for looking. Chip

I've gotten a lot of requests for video tutorials over the past few years, so I decided to put some together. Image Editing Volume 1 is now available for purchase from my website. www.chipphillipsphotography.com I have included videos with my workshop tuition in the past, and have completely re-made these, with updated techniques for this edition. I will still be including these in future workshops, and am now offering them for sale. These tutorials cover many of the topics that we discuss during workshops, such as layers, layer masks, luminosity masks, color and contrast adustments, the Orton Effect, sharpening, hand blending mulitiple expousres with luminosity masks, and depth of field blending. I also include a complete of two of my images, from Raw to finish, including this image "Palouse Lupine Rays" . I hope you find them useful for your own editing. I would love any feedback, or... more »

"Foggy Morning Palouse" is an image I shot last summer while leading a workshop in the Palouse. I ran into fellow Photocascadia member Zack Schnepf who was also leading a workshop up there, and we all shot this scene. A very memorable morning! Chip
