The Old Bridge
Glencoe, Highlands, Scotland

Not far away from the A82 main road, I stumbled over this little, forgotten old bridge, which I've never seen before on any photo. The bridge itself was covered with moss and lichen and didn't look very sturdy to me. However, for the shot it was a welcome change that I used for my image composition.

Mordor

This is a remote and beautiful bend in Arizona.  On this particular evening, smoke from controlled fires had rolled into the valley and sky, mixing with the clouds already there.  At sunset, it looked like the sun just got snuffed out by all the smoke, but about 10 min after sunset the sky just blew up.  Fortunately I had left my tripod all setup, and quickly captured the fading color.

The NEW EUROPEAN TOP PHOTOGRAPHERS CIRCLE –– Circle Post  | READ ALL Before You Ask For Inclusion

#CircleSharingForThePeopleEPCc

By now you all know that I've emptied all shared circles in order to bring some more freshness and interestingness into them again. So this new validated edition of the EPC is all hot and fresh and you will have an excellent feed of brilliant European photography in your feed when you add this very popular circle. I am proud to promote each and every artist in it. Many of the photographers in this circle are better than many of the professionals that I have come across here on Google+.

Want in? READ the WHOLE post BEFORE you ask for inclusion.

What is the EPC?
It is a circle for European (residents or native) people that love photography and consider it their passion in life.

Taken at one of my favorite locations, just 15 minutes away from my home. It was one of the most amazing sunrise I've ever seen. Unfortunately I only had my compact camera with me, a Panasonic Lumix LX3, and not the big DSLR. Together with a little tripod I took three photos in a row in order to capture the whole dynamic range of the scenery. The resulting full resolution image is somewhat noisy (not visible here), but I'm very impressed with the result that came out of this little cam.

LivingGallery gets a new painting

The design of my website has been completely renewed by me. It's a simplistic design without many colours which helps to pop out the photos of your screen. Please let me know your opinions.

However, there's one thing that I'm wondering and what I'd like to ask you: what do you think, is there still room for personal websites? I've noticed that many people will only browse photos via G+, without visiting the websites of the artists. However, I think the personal website is the site, where the artist primarily presents his work. It's his or her platform of choice and shows more about the artist than the photo alone.

What do you think?

Last week I taught a workshop along the border between North Carolina and South Carolina, where you can find an amazing concentration of waterfalls. Of course I live near another great waterfall area, Yosemite, but the character of the falls is quite different in each area. Yosemite is known for its big, thundering, dramatic, vertical drops like Yosemite Falls and Bridalveil Fall. The Carolina falls are smaller, and usually slide down less-than-vertical rock faces, but they have braids and channels that lend themselves to slow shutter speeds and more intimate compositions, and in their own way they're equally photogenic.

Here's one of my favorite waterfall images from last week, of Eastatoe Falls in North Carolina. And guess what, it's Wednesday, so this is a contribution for #WaterfallWednesday, curated by +Eric Leslie. I'll post more photos from the Carolinas on my blog soon.

Death Is Instantaneous
Near to Neist Point, Isle Of Skye, Scotland

I was wondering about the dead sheep I found at the coast near to Neist Point. From what I know, animals searches for a quiet place to die when they feel that the end is near. This sheep, however, lied just in the middle of the grass. It seemed to me that this was an immediate death. This can happen to all of us at any time. You cannot be sure that you will the next minute. Death is instantaneous - as same as live is. Live the moment.

Dies kannuns... more »

It was an evening with magical light. I took that shot just a few minutes before the sun vanished behind some clouds.

Gibt es eine grundlegende Wahrheit;
