When I think of Adraga beach, I think that everything is somehow started there. The first time I stepped on this sand, more than six years ago, I was haunted by a sense of solitude and peace. 
At that time I did not know how to take away something more than a mere memory..

..but after six years I went back and now I am finally able to show you what my mind saw.

Finally, after an eternal wait, next wednesday I'll leave for my next photographic destination: Portugal!
So excited to spend some time together with good friends and, finally, with my camera surrounded by magical beaches and majestic cliffs..
In the meantime, here a shot made last summer in the not-sunny-in-summer California :)
I miss so much all the guys I met there..and I really hope to meet some +Google+ friends in Portugal!

Dancing Clouds

Hello guys!
After months away from my camera, finally I have the chance to plan a new wonderful trip with my awesome friends +Luca Gerardi and +Alessio Andreani 
This time our destination will be the marvelous Portugal!
Our plan is to cover the area around Lisbon between the 17th and the 21st of April..we really hope to meet some +Google+ friends there, so if you are in the area let me know to join our “Portuguese Job” ! ;)

In the meanwhile, here another shot from the French Riviera, a place that you HAVE to visit at least once in your life!

Plus One Collection 2012

If you ask me to pick up the most awesome guys that I met in 2012 (at least virtually), one of them for sure is +Ivan Makarov 
Even if I was not lucky enough to meet him in my last trip in California, his efforts for the +Google+ photo community is more than an ispiration for my photography.
He is the father of the most awesome online photography project: Plus One Collection. 
It will not be just a book, but as all the raised fund will be devolved in charity, it will be a message of hope for someone.
For the 2012 edition of the book I want to re-share this picture thaken in my beautiful and beloved Portovenere, in the wonderful Gulf of Poets, in Italy.

Someone says that "the journey is more important than the destination"..and I couldn't be more agree.
Last Saturday I woke up at 2 am and with my dear friends +Luca Gerardi and +Alessio Andreani, we drove 4 hours to reach the awesome (!) +Eric Rousset  in the French Riviera..and everything just for a 10" exposure. 
OH YEAH!
I love photography, especially when I feel that behind a single shot there is something more important than everything else: Friendship

The Sentinel

My great friend +Barry Blanchard taught me that when you lose something you can find something else better..you can expand your horizons, just watching inside yourself.. 
You can think it’s stupid or a contradiction..but when I tried, I saw the sea talking with an old Church, I heard the wind singing and the sun laughing behind a cloud

I love my bed.

The Burning Cloud

When I was at San Francisco's Airport, I read this quote on a wall:

"Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer"

I could not agree more. 
I spent 10 days in California, and I think that it was one of the best idea I ever had.
I had not only the chance to see a world at 6 thousand miles from mine, but thanks to +Google+ I had the opportunity to meet in the real life some awesome guys that turned a simple trip in something that will last in my mind for the rest of my days.

The Rusty Pier

Breath of the Sea

Exactly one year ago I was in one of the best places ever visited in this planet, Iceland.
My Soul is still there, roaming around one of its wonderful black beaches..
But in Iceland I left a piece of my heart too, and not only for the wonderful landscapes that I saw..
The evening of one year ago at the Farmhouse Hrífunes I had the pleasure to spend the evening talking with a beautiful girl from Holland, but unfortunately I was so stupid for not asking her an email or any contact..I can only remember her blonde hairs and her wonderful smile, even if I know that this is useless here..
As sometimes she wander in my thoughts, I want to dedicate her this shot, hoping that in a way or another +Google+ can reach her..After all if +NASA can land a Mini Cooper on Mars, why cannot I reach one of my dreams?

The Pursuit of Beauty

Hello mates! Today I'm so excited as I have finally booked the flight for my trip in California! I'll be there from the 20th to the 29th of September. I'm still planning the route, but the idea is to move from Los Angeles to San Francisco through the California Route 1.
I really hope to finally have the opportunity to meet many friends of G+ to spend some time together drinking beers while taking photography!
In the meanwhile I have to "be satisfied" with my beautiful Italy in the continuous Pursuit of Beauty..

A Day in Grey

Albert Einstein used to say that "the mind is like a parachute, it works best when open".
I'm completely agree with that, in my life and in photography too..
I'm in love with colors, especially if seen with my mind's eyes..but to completely master them, I think that understanding B&W in each single grey tone is a necessary step..

Light from below

Hello mates,
yesterday was the worst photographic day of my life..after a long day at work I decided relax my Soul taking some seascape pictures..unfortunately for a stupid human error I wrongly locked my Lee Holder..I lost an Heliopan, two Lee glass filters and the holder, of course..WTF
I think this unexpected cost will delay my next short photographic travel to Portugal :(

I don't give a damn..nothing can stop my lust for photography..

Hello mates!
I must confess that I really love staying in my bed, especially when I know that I can sleep all day long :)
So even if I'm a landscape photographer, it's really hard to find me on a beach on the early morning :P
Despite of that when I was in Cantabria I tried to force myself to wake up before the sun..and even if it was not the perfect sunrise, I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the time I spent alone in that wonderful beach..
If you're wondering if I got wet, the answer is yes, of course! Obviously I didn't considered that the tides outside the Mediterranean sea where completely different :D

Souls

Yes, we both know that I hate humans and "human things" into my pictures..but when I look at the works of some awesome B&W Long Exposure Masters like +Joel Tjintjelaar +Athena Carey +Nathan Wirth +Kees Smans +Grant Murray and many others, I'm really overwhelmed by the beauty and the poetry of their works..
So I decided to experiment something new, something that could merge their marvelous World of lines and shades with my colors..

That's what I've found in my mind, and if I close my eyes I can still see those Souls walking and whispering in the frozen sea of time.

Ok, I know..after a week of high temperature you're supposed to rest up some days before returning to your normal activity..
But how could I resist to the pursuit of the perfect sunset!?! :)
Obviously to take this shot I had to ask myself a very "hard" question: "Would you like come back home completely wet or not?"
Yep..You probably know the answer... ;)
Btw, the sealing of the 5D MkIII is really perfect..or at least better than the one of my pants :D

Hello guys!
Today I'm so unlucky to be on my bed with high temperature..I don't know exactly the correct word for that in english, but my throat looks like the set of the "Indipendence day" movie :)
Looking at the sunny side, I have some time to spend with LR and my pictures :)
Today I want to share with you another Long Exposure taken on my last trip in Costa Quebrada.

I want to dedicate this shot to my wonderful friend +Athena Carey ..It's just a way to say "thank you" for her inspiring works but most of all because she started to experiment Color Long Exposures!
Come on Athena, come to the Color Side, we have cookies :)

Gates of Eden

I really believe that when you’re out taking pictures, your mood is an element as important as the ISO, the shutter speed and the aperture..

When I was on the top of the beautiful cliffs near Liencres in Costa Quebrada watching one of the best sunset ever seen in my life, I was so relaxed that I was really feeling like a blade of grass in the wind, while all my thoughts were fading away with the clouds in the sky..

Hello guys!
Finally I'm back in Italy after my really short trip in Spain..
As my plane landed tonight I had no the chance to work on the shots I've taken :)
So for this #Longexposurethursday I share with you a shot that I took last winter in the beautiful Tellaro (Italy) in a very stormy day.
I really love this pic because the two seagulls that you can see on the rocks stayed still for all the long exposure :D

Now it's time to have a breakfast, as I missed my beloved Cappuccino!!!

Blessed Sea - Fine Art Print for +Photography auction Fundraiser and +Charles Crawford Fundraiser

Hello mates!
Today I'm really happy even if Sunday is almost over (at least here in Italy) mainly for two reasons.
The first one is that today I was featured by the great +Jay Patel! This is more than an awesome honor for me because he's not only one of the finest photographer ever met, but also because he's really a Mentor for me and my photography.
Grazie +Jay Patel!

The second reason is that thanks to my friends +Athena Carey and +Joel Tjintjelaar I found a way to help concretely a fellow photographer, +Charles Crawford who needs $6500 to get Bioness Leg Braces, which will allow him to walk again.

Hello dear friends!
As I wrote Monday, my picture Azzurro was selected to be the cover image of +Camerapixo Magazine.
For this reason in this #LongExposureThursday I decided to reshare it with you.
The pic was taken in the beautiful town of Portovenere here in Italy after an heavy storm..
I don’t know exactly why, but this is one of my favorite pic ever taken..
Maybe due to the surreal atmosphere, or simply because it reminds me the wonderful quote of Sant’Agostino:

“The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page”

I couldn’t be more agree.
