Golden Karma
Hotel Dieu - Lyon, France

This is one of the biggest buildings of the city. There's been a hospital on the grounds since the 12th century, but the building you see was built in the 18th century. It's been vacant since 2010. There is a project for a hotel and possibly a museum. Given the beauty of the building, I hope it doesn't stay empty for too long!

I'm enjoying more and more shooting right after sunset. I think it's become my favorite time of day! This is just the beginning of the blue hour, and the beginning of all the fun!

Willow flats - Grand Teton National Park, WY

FULL RESOLUTION IMAGE - BEST VIEWED LARGE

This is a 5-image panorama of the Grand Teton mountain range in Wyoming. It's from the Willow flats overlook, right on the side of the road. These mountains are really a masterpiece of nature... I just wished I had more time to stay and photograph them.

I really fell in love with Chicago when I visited the city last summer. This is the view from the roof of the building where we were staying, with the view over the iconic Trump tower.

The Little Road That Could
Blacktail plateau drive - Yellowstone National Park, WY

This one-way dirt road can be found in the north of Yellowstone National Park and is very charming! You can take it with pretty much any car (no need for a SUV) and it's a very nice drive between hills and prairies. We even saw a coyote!

This view left me without words... I was so lucky to be able to spend a few days in the Canadian Rockies, it's one of the most breathtaking experiences I've ever had.

Roads of America

At the top of Mt Evans, the highest paved road in America (14,000+ ft high) is not like a typical US road: you can barely cross a car and the road doesn't feel safe everywhere.

Floating lights

This was truly awesome: the entire wall was covered with buoys and you could turn the light of each buoy on and off. You could draw shapes or write words. Pretty sick!

Where there's gold...
Smith Tower - Seattle, WA

The Smith tower is the oldest skyscraper of Seattle, WA. Completed in 1914 it was the tallest building west of the Mississippi for years and stayed the tallest building in Seattle until the Space Needle was built in 1962 (Wikipedia).

The interior of the building is marvelous: gold and ivory welcome you to the elevators, the top has a beautiful room with great decorations. The view over the city is great: you can see many landmarks including the Space Needle. Definitely somewhere to go when in Seattle!

King of the hills
Steptoe Butte State Park - Palouse, WA

There are many hills in the Palouse region (in the state of Washington), but there is one you can see from afar. There is one is different from any other: taller, greener, majestic.

The Steptoe butte is the tallest hill of the Palouse and it’s also a state park. From the top of the hill, you can see far away, but it’s still only tiny hills everywhere which is a fantastic view. I strongly encourage you to go there if you’re ever in the Palouse. Also, try getting there around sunset (which I didn’t do), the light will be much more beautiful on the hills.

Over the next few days I will be sharing images from the Festival of Lights in Lyon. It happens every year on December 8th to thank the Virgin Mary for saving the city from the plague.

These were giant bubbles with lights and shapes inside. It was all just in the street and there were so many people around them, it was impossible not to photograph anyone. So I chose to include the people in my shot.

The overlook

My uploading workflow on G+ is now back: I can add and share an image to an existing album again, which means I will be sharing new images from now on!

This one is from last year in Oregon when I went to meet +Gary Randall. I went back along the road to get another point of view. It wasn't easy because of the slope and the trees.
