This past Sunday, there was some good wind, so took a drive to one of my favorite local parks, Two Lights State Park in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. Wow! there was some awesome wavage going on! And better yet, I was the only person there....no one to get in my way, or interfere with me bonding with nature, awesome!

This was the day after Nemo, the blizzard that hit the NE United States this past weekend (2/9/13). I was hoping there would still be some big waves, but it was pretty calm. Found everything covered in a beautiful ice coating though.

Hello! This is my first post to this community, and this group. Since this is one of the most photographed lighthouses in the world, I'm sure many of you have seen a thousand shots of this place...Portland Head Lighthouse, Cape Elizabeth, Maine.  This shot was taken the day after Hurricane Sandy passed by our area, and at high tide with non-stop, amazing waves.  I look forward to participating in this community...loving the community thing! Hello Everyone, so happy to be a part of this group! I have not been very good about getting on G+ lately, but I will try to do better.  The photo below isn't spectacular, but it has a special place in my heart. This is Ruffles, one of the more well known Orca whales in the Puget Sound. This shot was taken in May, 2009. I think it has been determined that Ruffles has since passed, but researchers believe he was at least 60 years old. I love photographing boats, and Maine has some awesome boats. This one here, is just a simple little guy. I almost drove of the road when I saw this. Had to park quite a ways away and walk back to get this, but just love the peaceful mood it brings back to me when I see it.

Acadia National Park - A Walk in the Rain

Paid a visit to Acadia National Park over the weekend. It was a complete washout...absolutely raining buckets of water. Still, put on my rain poncho, grabbed my shower cap and plastic bag for the camera, and was determined to get a few shots.

I was photographing butterflies over the weekend, and this guy was darting around. This is a clear-winged moth, also known as a hummingbird moth.

Here is one for +Lily Monday curated by +Ray Bilcliff  (my first posting here). This was taken at the Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay, Maine. I was photographing the lilies, when low and behold, I noticed there was actually a frog sitting in it! There were frogs sitting on the lily pads, everywhere, it was awesome!

Here is a Painted Turtle that wandered up onto my lawn last weekend. Not sure if it's a male or female, but it let me lie down in the grass with it to get some nice close-ups. :-)
