Bullsnake anyone?
Noticed one of the feral cats outside the window today, 'skirting' around something. Took a second look and saw it was a beautiful four foot snake, although the rattling had me convinced for a moment that it really was a rattlesnake. It put on quite a show. Glad I took that class from the The Wildlife Center so I could tell the difference! ;-)

A huge Thank you to all the people (some have been exceptional generous) who did serious nominations!!!

Sharing the new updated High Quality Nature Photographer Circle in the field of Nature: wildlife, animals, birds, flowers, landscape and so on. Formerly known as New Nature, Wildlife and Landscape circle, being version 2.0 now.

This has been a horrible effort due to G+ bugs and massive ghost nominating, which is really pointless unless you want to make the effort very hard for me. ;-)

The update is just as far as I managed. Still lots of profiles to check for next update. :)
Some looked so promising that I gave them the benefit of doubt. Some I nominated for High Quality Sharing People Of G+ Circle but did just not fit in this one.

Almost Spring

Here's a shot I took back in early March of 2009 while visiting the Alamosa National Wildlife Refuge in Colorado. I know those were ducks flying at me, but unfortunately I don't know what kind. The Sangre de Cristo Range is in the background with the Great Sand Dunes just below them. I used four +Texture Junkie textures.

A massive nominating for the New Nature, Wildlife and Landscape Circle maintained by Rinus Bakker has been going on last day.

We are on the right track, the stream has unmatched quality of nature photo's
Birds, flowers, mammals, landscape, seascape, Trees, Skies, Funghy, Bugs etcetc.

Release of the circle planned tomorrow night Dutch time. Thursday 2012 April 12.

Flock of Redwings

Hard to believe that all this wet and wonderful greenery was taken right here in Santa Fe... We're very diverse up here in the high desert!

Arrival at Moonrise

Here's another shot I took at Bosque del Apache of the Snow Geese flying in for the evening. I used three +Texture Junkie textures... Refuge, Huckleberry and Looking Glass.

Knockin' On My Door

Here's one I've been playing around with today. Santa Fe has some of the coolest doorways into walled adobe courtyards, and they are a very popular photographic subject here in the 'City Different'. I used 3 +Texture Junkie textures.

Rearrange photos and move photos between albums

Rearranging photos and moving them between albums are two of our top feature requests. Today, we’re excited to launch an album organizer so you can better tell the story of your photos.

To get started, open one of your albums and select Organize album from the Options menu. With the album organizer you can:

Sort photos by time: Click Order by date to sort all photos in the album by the photo date, from earliest to latest. Click it again to sort them from latest to earliest.

Reorder your photos: Select the photos you want to reorder and drag them to their new position in the album. You can also move selected photos to the start or end of the album by clicking Move totop... more »

Through the Pass

Driving a dirt back-road last week near Cerrillos, NM, I quite unexpectedly came across this scene. I almost missed it because there were high hills on either side of the road, but all of a sudden there was this small opening revealing the snow covered Ortiz Mountains. It popped out at me so fast that I actually had to back up the car to make sure I had really seen it! lol

In the Thick of It - Lift off at Bosque del Apache, New Mexico

This was such an incredible feeling, having hundreds and hundreds (felt like thousands!) of Snow Geese flying mere feet from my head, the sound of their voices and the flapping of their wings. I will never forget this day. :)

Google+ Hangouts: making it easier to invite others

Hangouts are great for catching up with the people you care about, and today we're making it easier to invite your circle of friends to join you.

Once you're inside the hangout, you'll see the familiar "invite" dialog on one side. On the other, however, you'll now see pictures of people in your circles:

- Those currently online appear higher in the list, making it easier to hang out right away
- You can also hover over a particular person to see their online status
- Simply click on a person's face to add them to your invite list

Once your list is set, just hit the "Invite" button to invite your friends to your hangout.

Market Day

Here's a shot taken at El Rancho de las Golondrinas (Ranch of the Swallows) here in Santa Fe. I've added three Texture Junkie textures (Snow Day >divide 100%, Refuge >color burn 90%, and Silence Rushes In >soft light 36%) to help with the painterly effect.

On the Fence

Walking around the Canyon Road neighbohood, I stumbled upon this ivy hanging on, trying to survive winter. It was actually doing pretty well, I thought. The colors and detail caught my eye so I just had to take it's 'portrait'. It includes two Texture Junkie overlays. (Spider Song, overlay at 100% and Snow Day, soft light at 56%)
