To all my friends and readers;

My website, #TheMagusWorkshop, has finally passed beyond the shadow's veil. This should be a day mourning and solace for so fine an endeavor.

However, I have not ceased #writing and much of my work is preserved. When there comes a time where I feel the world is in want of my tales, they shall be there to tell.

Ugh, I'm weirdly exhausted. Trying to focus on a new piece but I just don't have the motivation to think about it. I haven't even looked at my stats in a month cause it's usually appalling anyway.

Maybe I should take a nap.

So at this point I may sound like a broken record to some people, but the truth is I'm still homeless, I still need medical and dental help, and I still need to eat on a regular basis. Trying to discuss the issues with our economic system and art hasn't work so far but, well, I still think that there's something important here to discuss.

This time, I'm trying to talk about patronage. Patronage was the Renaissance practice of the wealthy paying for an artist's needs (for materials, for living space, for food, etc) and in turn being given access to their art and 'genius'. This decision to patronize was built on potential, what an artist could be, and the artists were given room to grow. While this system wasn't perfect, it allowed art to flourish.

1) Battle-Scholars
Not a bard, mind, but a competent warrior that's trained as a scribe and historian, and schooled in the fields of tracking, dealing with, and surviving monsters and other such issues. A fantasy version of a war correspondent-slash-impartial historian. Probably a knight-like order of some kind. Limited magic if there is any at all.

2) A world for said Battle-Scholars
I'm thinking a fantastic post-apocalyptic world. There are two great Forces at the heart of the universe that contend constantly for balance. The Chaotic forces of the Dark Gods and the Ordered forces of the Prophecies. The Dark Gods work in madness, death, and destruction - they head the world toward total absolution in the fires of entropy and a violent rebirth. So I kind of feel like discussing #politics  and the #Election2012  .

Here's my statement to you, all of you out there.

I'm disabled. I'm poor. I'm technically homeless right now, as I sleep on a couch. This negatively affects all aspects of my life and has thrown a wrench into every personal relationship I have as well as making it nearly impossible for me to work on the things that could possibly save me from my economic situation.

If any Conservative is given economic power over me, I will be left to die by just about every plan I've heard about. This is a problem to me. I'm not a big fan of the current Democratic ideas, as they're not nearly as efficient or as effective as they could be, but there's that.

I've been a poll worker (please spare me the homonym-driven wordplay) for a decade now and I'm here to say that we are trained to say "no problem" and help you to earn your "I Voted" sticker -- and nothing else. Any potential voter fraud is handled by the Registrar of #Voters , not us. We are eager and happy to help you to vote; that's why we do this (the stipend we get < minimum wage).

Help us to help you by considering your choices BEFORE coming in, remembering your sample ballot/voters' guides (barring that, not accidentally marking up or taking ours), and -- this is IMPORTANT -- completely refraining from making any politicized talk or wearing any political signs/symbols in or near your polling site. Reading Cracked and getting ready to go to a get together, read the best paragraph I've seen in a while;

"Now, I'm sure if you just Google it, there's some pretty simple historical or cultural reasons why the modern day, mostly hand-based sport of American football is called what it is, like it was based on an earlier sport like rugby football that did involve more footwork, but I've recently been reading the teachings of Ayn Rand, and I feel that searching for other people's answers on Google would just be parasitically sponging off their work. Is there a #GooglePlus   #developers  tag or account? There's something that I could really use, and that I'm sure a lot of other people could really use, in the G+ interface.

I'm photosensitive and the lack of a black/grey option (especially for the background) really hurts my eyes.

Okay, #OnceUponATime, we have to have a talk.

You cannot take one of the most iconic swordsman in legend, one of the greatest warriors in the Western Canon, take the awesome and adventurous step of making him black, and then kill him RETROACTIVELY. Not only is he dead, but he's been brushed off completely in a throwaway line by the Big Bad's mom.

Poor form, #OUAT. You better bring back #Lancelot somehow, and it better be plausible, and you better introduce the entire Table because an OUAT #Gawain would be awesome.

(Also, I think "OUAT" is pronounced oat.)

Slowly, but surely, my voice is coming back to me. Hopefully soon I can find a permanent residence, I can find some income to scrape together, and I'll be able to get a lot more of my writing out.

Greta Christina has had to cancel some of her future speaking engagements due to a treatable but serious medical problem. This, unfortunately, cuts into her income and will make it harder for her to get by. So, if you can, consider looking into her book - it'll help her, it'll give you some good reading material, and it'll explain why some of us atheists can get riled up.

Hey, #computer  people
I've got a Samsung QX411, and I love it (thanks to my lover for helping me get it, I love the PC)...except for one problem. You can't strip it down.

This is a problem, as my sister's cat helped some Pepsi fall on the keyboard and now it doesn't work right.The keys aren't sticking or anything, they're just not registering. At first, the keys were registering oddly. Right now, the keyboard itself is not detectable or something. (I also had a minor ant infestation the next morning that I'm still clearing out).

So what I need your help with is the following - repairing the keyboard on a QX411 and locating a non-conductive cleaning solution I can submerge my laptop in. I need my keyboard working, though I do have a wireless keyboard a friend has loaned me for now.
