Survivor
I shot this tree a few years ago and I have been thinking about it ever since. It may be time for another visit - if the poor thing is still standing.
The night I shot this was one of the strangest shooting experiences I've ever had. It was one of those nights when I felt very alone on the back roads, and when I got out of my car, my hair stood up on the back of my neck. I snapped a few shots and I got out of there quickly. I don't know what it was exactly. It was a bit spooky there. Quieter than it should have been, and something didn't smell right. Actually, something smelled downright bad. And the flies. There were thick clouds of flies swarming all around me.
I looked around a bit... as I half expected to find a dead animal or something, but I didn't linger long. I just had to go.
But this tree... it had seen bette... more »

Hi Folks :)
As promised here's the video that I've posted online today where I show how to do the Invisible Black Background photography technique.
Be sure to check out my site too for some links to the written walk through and some Q & A's (http://www.glyndewis.com) and also share this with friends you think might like to give it a whirl.
Enjoy :)

This is my Ocean
You probably can’t tell right now. It’s low tide. The rocks and the silt on the bottom are showing. There’s not a lot going on with it right now. It’s a little dull.
But soon.....
Soon my ocean will rise. It will be full of never ending goodness, turning from green to gold as it ripens under the hot summer sun.
It will dance to the song of the wind as it whistles across the prairies, slowly swaying to and fro, undulating in ripples and waves under the setting sun, and it will take my breath away.

"Human Beacon"
My goodness. Two panos in two days.
This is a self-portrait from last night at Lake Minnewanka, a place where I hang out a lot. Another warm, calm, starry night in the mountains. And an amazing array of colours, especially with the greens brought out by the headlamp.
12 vertical images, Canon 5D Mk III, 24mm f/1.4L lens at f/1.8, ISO 1600, 30 seconds.
Lake Minnewanka, Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada.

Today we're going to talk about positive feedback folders.
Have you ever hit a rough patch in life (personally or professionally) where you feel like nothing is going your way? Perhaps you’ve hit a creative block, are dealing with some kind of rejection, or you’re just having a difficult time connecting with some of the things that are important to you.
And to make matters worse, perhaps you get a bit down on yourself and you start focusing on the negative.
This is where a positive feedback folder can help...

it's *WORLD IBD DAY*
i am here to bring awareness to all of you.
Do you have any questions about my Crohn's Disease or any other IBD {Inflammatory Bowel Disease}?
IBD is very different from IBS {Irritable Bowel Syndrome},
so please try not to get the two confused.
Millions of people all over the world are affected by this life crippling disease, it's time to get the word out so we can find a cure or at least get a little understanding as to what we go through on a daily basis. I also want to thank all of you that have reached out to me and to others who struggle with similar issues.
Ask me anything !!
(no, not that... geesh)
Wonder where i bought my T-Shirt?::
