This poor guy will never know that someone took a picture of him with his little butt sticking up and then posted it on the internet...oh the humiliation should he ever find out...but wait, that is probably the least of his concerns. Isn't perspective an amazing thing? Most of us would stress and fret over it, but this guy is happily oblivious. Maybe we should spend more time drinking of the nectar and less time worrying about how we look doing it! Just a thought...Have a happily oblivious day!

I was trying to take a picture of a fountain when suddenly this little guy decided that he wanted to be the main feature of my photo. I would have liked to have gotten both bird and fountain, but I was only allowed one quick snap and then he was off to "spoil" other photos I imagine...

It is so darn frustrating when you know that spring is just around the corner because the sun is shining and the air is warm, yet the trees are still barren and the buds remain tightly tucked. The warm day lures me out, camera in hand, yet as I look around for inspiration I sigh and just shoot what I can. I learned something from this, and that is that this is the best time for creativity. When nature does all the work for me that is well and fine, but sometimes it is even better when I have to dig deep inside myself because that is when I grow as an artist. So this is what I came up with...I hope you enjoy it!

Another perspective on the most gorgeous sky I have seen in a long time. Taken at Klondike Park in Augusta, Missouri.

I came out of church today into the most gorgeous weather imaginable. I realized right away that I needed to go home scoop up my dog and my mom and head somewhere - anywhere outdoors and just enjoy the day. We headed for a place here in Missouri called Klondike Park on the Missouri River. It is an old quarry and it is covered in white sand. The sky was exquisite; the sun was brilliant, and the day was amazing!

This poor fellow really broke my heart. He is a zoo captive and lives in a concrete jungle behind a very thick plexiglass window. All day long he is ogled and pointed at and strangely enough he is kind of ticked off about it! Several times he threw things at the window causing shrieks and moans from his viewers, and then laughs and more finger points. There was nowhere for him to hide really. No privacy for the more delicate necessities of life, and so these actions must occur for the entertainment of everyone - and entertainment it is.

I guess that's how it works. We look at people, or animals, or things that we don't understand with fear, until we manage to trap them; then we stare and point and ridicule. We use them for our entertainment, and then feel a delicious shiver when they react.
