Tara Meyer-Robson3,023HIGHER THOUGHT/INSPIRING CIRCLE Created by +Tara Meyer-Robson  (1st Edition)This is my first circle share, so I wanted to make it a great one! Please SHARE and LIKE to be added to version 2! I’ve realized how important it is to surround yourself with people that inspire you, that allow you to dream, that kick you in the behind on days when you are ready to give up, and who are always willing to look for the higher meaning in the lessons of life. In this group, you will find those that will do all of the above! This is a circle of truly amazing, intelligent, and spiritual individuals. Most people are either personal friends or others that I've been interacting with here in the few months I have been on G+ and I’ve connected with many of these people on other networks, too.  All people here are very active on Google+ and worth adding to your circles. They come from all over the world and have many different backgrounds: some of them are authors, writers, bloggers, and creatives; all are inspiring people who love to connect to a higher frequency. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++If you’d like to be added to my circles, it’s very easy: you can certainly keep engaging with my posts, or keep sharing great content of your own or others. To connect with me, here are the other places you will find me: My Website: www.TaraMeyerRobson.comOn here, you can sign up to get a free healing meditation and to get the best I have to offer on how to shift your life and heal your body by understanding the underlying cause. That’s my passion and what I do best, so please feel free to connect with me there. Twitter: http://twitter.com/tarameyerrobsonFacebook: http://facebook.com/tarameyerrobsonLinkedIn:  http://www.linkedin.com/in/tarameyerrobsonFor Authors: http://HowtoBeaBestsellingAuthor.comWhen my book first came out, I really struggled trying to get sales. Desperate to find an answer, I studied what other bestselling authors were doing to drive their books up the bestseller lists, and I put together a formula that I thought might work. It did, and it cost me almost nothing to do. After helping other authors do the same, I packaged the whole thing up so I could share the information with as many authors as possible. For Affiliates/Writers/Bloggers: If you are interested in earning 75% on my products, I am on www.clickbank.com  - here’s my Vendor Spotlight: https://theflow6.accounts.clickbank.com/spotlightProfile.htm?f=spot&v=theflow6. Right now, affiliates are making about $62 a sale on my Bestseller in 1 Day! Program. I offer a ton of Affiliate Tools, such as approved Google ads that have converted for me, a list of Google keywords, sidebar ads, and more.  If you are a writer or a blogger, this is a great opportunity for you to have a high-quality product to promote and monetize your blog. If you’ve never monetized your blog before, feel free to reach out to me and I’ll help. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++MY BRAND-NEW COMMUNITYMind-Body Healing for Everyone: https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities/103956739698618922440Join us to learn how to translate what your body is te2014-03-12 19:34:34500311724CC G+

They also have "more photos, less spam." There have been many additions and a few drops (mostly for spam or inactivity).Be sure to get all 14 circles. Share! If you miss any of the circles they can be found at: +Gailen Mapes and scroll back to April 15th for the start of this set.  (Previous complete set was published starting April 1st.)I am hard up against the 5000 limit. From here on, I am going to have to become rather more strict about the "spam rules." Essentially if I have to go back more than a screen on your profile before I hit original material, there is a good chance that I may drop you from the circles. Of course there will be mitigating factors...Because of the way that Google no longer presents every person who adds me to their circles to me it is quite possible that I have missed some pretty good photographers.  If I am following you, chances are that you are already in one of these circles or in my "check later" circle.  If you think you have been missed, tag a comment on one of these posts and I will check your profile out for inclusion.  Guidelines for inclusion can be found at:https://plus.google.com/u/0/103752943025677384806/about#circleshare #circlesharing #circleoftheday #handpickedcircles   #sharedcircles #sharedcircle #sharedpubliccircles   #fullcircleshare #addmetoyourcircles #pixelworld   #pixelworldcircle #circleoftheday #bestsharedcircle #thebestcirclesongoogle #thebestcircle2013-04-17 10:59:1133011310CC G+

Curating Content on Google+4,580The new Pʜᴏᴛᴏɢʀᴀᴘʜʏ ENGAGERS Cɪʀᴄʟᴇ is out!    [ Mar 28, 2013 ]Record participation again last week!  The bar has been set higher!Quick start instructions:➀  post a URL link to a G+ photo in the comments below,➁  check out some photos from others and +1 and comment on them,➂  publicly share this circle-post, from a new friend's stream (instead of ours)➃  add this circle, and replace it every week. You will get a comment from us and be added (or stay in) the circle share next week!  Questions?  Ask in comments below - you'll get help!Full story: This circle is for meeting engaging G+ users about photography.  The interaction happens in the comments and re-shares.  Post a link to a photo from your stream during the last week in the comments below.  It can be your photo or someone else's.  Then from the comments here, check out someone's link, and comment on / critique that photo.  Try to pick someone new each week, so you will meet new people and make new friends (more than 1 is ok too).  Re-sharing their circle-share helps them learn about Ripples! Results: your photos will get more exposure, you will be circled more, and you'll find active people to add to your stream.  Re-sharing this circle is highly recommended, and some form of engagement is mandatory.  That will result in a curated circle that's always fresh!  If you drop out for any reason, you can get back in at any time by adding content & engaging in the current weekly circle! We respond with up to 3 ☑ next to your name: 1 for linking your photo, 1 for sharing the circle, and 1 for a +1 on this post.  The circle will always have the people who interacted the most over the last 3 weeks. This will be done every Thursday.  It is for active G+'ers that want more interaction and exposure. This is a hybrid idea, taking the best parts of circle sharing, communities, and G+, and rolling them into one!Biggest Ripple last week: +Wiebke Delightgraph with 10!   Top Influencers last week: +Malthus John, +Ree Saunders, +Alan Shapiro, and +Medicine Tree Studios.  Special thanks to you too!See http://goo.gl/ldooJ for full details! Also, a big hug for the "little elves" who help make this work:+Malthus John +Sara Schiavi +2013-03-28 22:44:44382411120146CC G+

Matt Shalvatis21,118#50FFF - Support your fellow photographers.  Please share! Here are 50 (or so) photographers who have posted something within the last week that has got my attention.  I gathered these from my stream, weekly photo themes, some photo communities, and random postings I stumbled upon.  Regular photography, HDR Photography, Paintography, and some other photos of interest. And that is my criteria for this circle.  They got my attention.  Well, OK, there is just a bit more.  • I checked their streams to make sure they’ve posted a few other photos in the last week.  But they don’t have to be all photos, all the time.• Made sure the best I could that the photos were their own. • Made sure they are lesser known photographers.  The well known ones don’t need more promotion. • Nothing unusually strange or bizarre in their streams.  If you’d like to be considered for the next weekly circle, post a comment below and share this circle.  This guarantees that I will look at your stream.  It does not guarantee inclusion in the next circle.  Get my attention, and you're included! This circle will be all new every week. #circleshare  #followfriday  #sharedcircles   #circlesharing      2013-02-22 19:00:5251718CC G+

Margaret Tompkins42,172>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Great Photographers With < 25,000 FollowersThe photographers here are all in my personal circles.  The choices are mine and mine alone.  No one asked, begged, or pleaded to belong.  No bribes were offered or accepted.  These are the people that I follow because I appreciate their great quality photography and their interaction.  Most I have met as I help curate several of the photography themes.  There are NO requirements to share this circle.  I would appreciate the people in this circle plus the post, leave a comment, and share the circle as public.  Each profile has been verified by me.  Most have < 25,000 followers (when they were put into the circle).  They each have high quality original photography content.  You won’t find many animated gifs!  I have included myself in the circle and also the landscape page.  Some are new to G+ so please make them feel welcome!!Landscape Photography:  I invite everyone to check out the +Landscape Photography #LandsacapePhotography theme.  If you want to impress me, that’s the place to do it!!  Post a great landscape that will get my attention.  See the About tab for all the details.I wasn’t included, what do I do?  If you meet the criteria, weren’t included, but think you should be, then leave me a comment.  Maybe I don’t know about you.  There are millions of people on G+ and I don’t know everyone.  However, I’ll be happy to have a look at your work if you will call it to my attention.  Start posting landscapes that get my attention (see above)!!There’s a really great photographer XXX that you didn’t include.  Please feel free to recommend qualified people.  I discover new people every day and would be happy to look at their work.  Please make sure that the recommended person meets the criteria.  If they don’t then that tells me a lot about you! #Circleshare   #Sharedcircles   2013-01-29 23:06:24499387127196CC G+

Csaba Mocsonoky6,476Merry whatever you celebreate (if you celebrate anything at all today)!Hey there, G+!To everyone, I would like to wish a great day, regardless of what you happen to celebrate or do today.Since I loved Christmas (that is what happens here in Hungary) as a child, I really do miss the old 'Christmas Spirit' which made those days of the year so magical (and by Spirit I mean family).Time passes, loved ones come and go, but usually and unfortunately, mostly go.This is not the most happy (or merry, if you like) time of the year for me but I try to make it better for myself and others.Which is why I decided to share this great circle of photographers (a thing I did from time-to-time) for you to explore. It's not really up-to-date, but if you don't have it already, it's high time you did! Have a nice day (and anything that remains of this year)!2012-12-24 09:27:38123606CC G+

It's #womenwednesday ! I am re-editing some older pictures and wanted to share this one with you.

This little girl suddenly crossed our path when we were on our way to the wonderful Swayambunath temple complex in Kathmandu (mixed Buddhist & Hindu). There was a curfew due to the Maoist problems and the streets were empty. But this little girl did not mind politics, outdated idealism and human stupidity in general and was playing with her sister and brother.
She was interested and posed, though only for a split-second, but somehow I could not capture her innocence, cheerful expression and gorgeous eyes as I wanted. The next hours I had that familiar nagging feeling when you did not shoot that picture that you wanted to or could have…

Much later, we walked back and I went to look for her. I found her house, and she posed again, though she could barely stand still as shew... more »

Laila Peak, Hushe Valley, Gilgit-Baltistan , Pakistan

Located at N 35° 35′ 28.4136″, W 76° 26′ 33.1008 in the Pakistan Karakoram range, Laila peak is 'only' 6096m/20,000ft high. But it is one of the most impressive mountains in the world, though seldomly climbed.
It has a distinctive spear-like shape. Its northwest face has a slope of 45 degrees in more than 1500 vertical metres.

It has been climbed by Simon Yates, among others. According to the local people in Hushe, Laila peak has been climbed only twice, a total of only seven people have summited. It was climbed in winter for the first time last month by Spanish mountaineers Alex Txikon and José Fernandez, though they could not reach the actual summit.

It's #sciencesunday  ! To celebrate, here is another shot taken during my recent visit to the wonderful Capillas de Marmol (known as the Marble Caves, literally Chapels), eroded by the lake. So what is Marble and how is it created? WikiPedia knows:

"Marble is a rock resulting from metamorphism of sedimentary carbonate rocks, most commonly limestone or dolomite rock. Metamorphism causes variable recrystallization of the original carbonate mineral grains.

The resulting marble rock is typically composed of an interlocking mosaic of carbonate crystals. Primary sedimentary textures and structures of the original carbonate rock (protolith) have typically been modified or destroyed.

Pure white marble is the result of metamorphism of a very pure (silicate-poor) limestone or dolomite protolith. The characteristic swirls and veins of many colored marble varieties are... more »

You have to step out of line to get a new perspective on things.

+Wray Post recently shared a great post from +Scott Kelby where Scott mentioned that his wonderful picture of a road above the clouds "could not be good as it was shot with a 6mp camera, in jpg on a crappy tripod".

I am raising (lowering) the bar with this image, shot from my first digital camera (not a phone, a real, non-dslr digital camera), the Minolta DimageX, with a whopping 1600x1200 (2mp!) resolution (image is resized but uncropped)! So, yes, I assume this picture sucks as I did not use the latest CanikonZeiss :)

It is a shot of a group of climbers, ascending the final ridges of Mt Blanc, the highest summit of the Alps and Western Europe, just as the sun came up.

For me it showed me a great lesson, one I have shared during presentations, where I still use this image: Youha... more »

The Chilean side of Patagonia consisted of several isolated villages, until the dictator Pinochet made it his pet project to construct the Carretera Austral (Southern Road). Most if still unpaved and very rough, but it has opened up some of the most amazing landscapes on earth to travelers.

This shot is taken in the part El Bosque Encantado (The Enchanted Forest), about 30 miles South of Puyuhuapi. Only a few miles away are high mountains with hanging glaciers and we took a dip in the hot springs overlooking a sea-arm, while dolphins passed :)
According to a Chilean friend this section was about to be used for the filming for the Lord of the Rings movies, but logistics, technical issues and financial stimulation from NZ apparently changed that. Not sure if that story is true, but it is definitely a Hobbit-worthy surrounding...

After a great image and discussion from +Jay Patel yesterday about poverty vs happiness, I will be posting some older pictures with similar theme.

At the end of the first day of my trekking to the Nepali basecamp of Everest, I ended up in Phakding, a collection of dirty houses and low budget trekker accommodation, but with amazingly tasty food. Said before, the children over there know how to play without electricity or Internet and though very 'limited'by western standards, never seem to be bored.
I watched these kids for a long time, while they tried to break each other’s hackey-sack record.
Once I showed them their own faces on the video camera and the screen of my photo camera, they starting posing, while wanting to know everything about this amazing technology, without forgetting their play. This image is uncropped.

Here is another shot from the Marble Caves, Chilean Patagonia. It can only be reached by boat or kayak. The shots I took appeared quite dull (shot in RAW), but then I noticed all these hidden colours that were in the file.

Part reflection of the turquoise water, others sulphur and mineral traces in the marble. Added a slight Orton effect for drama :)

Well, we are back early from the mountain. Bad weather, unexpected difficulties and physical limitations made us decide that it was safer to turn back and try again next year..
So no photos from the Patagonian Icefield, but I did shoot some nearby sights including these famed Marble Caves. The edge of the turquoise lake is full of marble rocks and pillars and many caves have been eroded out of these.

It gives a strange but wonderful atmosphere  a great place to visit, in Chilean Patagonia, right on the Carretera Austral.

I had shared a reflection image today, of Cerro Fitzroy. Here is the same image, but now I have flipped it vertically, i.e. replacing the reflection and real sides. with only a slight blur added to the bottom side.
Suddenly the rocks at the bottom of the lake (now in the sky) look like a nearby planet is crashing upon us. Still I like it this way as well, what do you prefer?

One more from Cerro Torre, as it is such a great mountain, for climbers and non-climbers alike! FYI, the rise from this lake to the summit is about 2400m/8000ft, most of it vertical rock! Would you like to visit this place with me? Let me know as I am preparing a new trip/workshop...

The Laguna de Los Tres froze overnight when I was bivouacking there, but melted in the morning sunlight, creating a rare calm reflection of Fitzroy, or "El Chaltén", the original name (and the name of the nearby town). "Chaltén" is a tehuelche word meaning smoking mountain, as they believe it was a volcano for its peak is most of the time covered by clouds.

It borders the Southern Patagonian Ice Field in Patagonia, on the border between Argentina and Chile. First climbed in 1952 by French alpinists Lionel Terray and Guido Magnone, it remains among the most technically challengingmo... more »

It's #sciencesunday ! Glaciar Grey is a huge glacier in the Torres del Paine National Park. As the glacier is moving and ends in a body of water, parts break off and form icebergs like the one above. It is impressive to carefully boat around these, as normally around 89% is hidden beneath the surface...

What is an iceberg? From WikiPedia:

"An iceberg is a large piece of freshwater ice that has broken off a glacier or an ice shelf and is floating freely in open water. It may subsequently become frozen into pack ice (one form of sea ice). As it drifts into shallower waters, it may come into contact with the seabed, a process referred to as seabed gouging by ice.

The word "iceberg" is a partial loan translation from Dutch ijsberg, literally meaning ice mountain, cognate to Danish Isbjerg, German Eisberg, Low Saxon Iesbarg .

I am slowly going through my many shots from a recent Patagonia trip. Here is a iconic shot from El Chalten, better known as Mount Fitzroy (El Chalten is still the name of the nearby town).

I hiked up late in the afternoon and bivouacked the night at the Laguna de los Tres, so I could be there in time for the sunrise. It's a wonderful vista, more to come...

Though normally the mountains are hidden in clouds, it was actually really clear, so I added a bit of drama using HDR & Orton and B/W :)

Happy new year :) I know, it's too late, but this is my first real post this year, so I hope to be excused. I have shot a load of new images, will try to share a few here on G+

This was shot in a wonderful place in Chilean Northern Patagonia, and is called the Ojos de Caburga (Ojos=Eyes in Spanish, Caburga is the name of the nearby town.) I don't do much HDR normally, but I thought this would be suitable.

It is a wonderful set of waterfalls, ending up in the same pool before continuing as a river. Camping here with friends, guitar, food and drink is wonderful :)

Who would you like to go on a PhotoWalk with?

While G+ is going nuts over the new communities and all its diseases, I would like you to dream a bit out loud: if you could choose a G+ photographer to go on a Photowalk with, who would it be and why? Personality vs location vs teaching ability vs photography? What is most important for you? Or more or even all of the above?

Would it be +Vivienne Gucwa because you love NY? +Colby Brown because he is a humanitarian? +Hengki Koentjoro because you want to visit Indonesia? Or any photographer from Mongolia because it is your dream place? Or rather someone from your own hometown that just shoots the best images or can teach you more or has the same camera as you? Or +Mike Shaw because you want to give him a hug :)

Here is an image I took a few days ago. I was taking some family shots, but as this bumble bee started to buzz around me, I thought I might as well use the 100mm macro lens for its intended purpose (it's a great portrait and landscape lens as well!). I learned a lot when trying to find out what that orange thingie on the bee's leg was:

WikiPedia:
"The pollen basket or corbicula is part of the tibia on the hind legs of the four related lineages of apid bees that used to comprise the family Apidae: the honey bees, bumblebees, stingless bees, and orchid bees. The corbicula ("little basket") is a polished cavity surrounded by a fringe of hairs, into which the pollen is placed; most other bees possess a structure called the scopa, which is similar in function, but is a dense mass of branched hairs into which pollen is pressed, with pollen grains held in place in the narrow... more »

As some of you know, I am using my photography to raise awareness and funds to replace toxic and expensive kerosene lamps by clean and affordable solar-powered LED lights. So instead of talking about this image I'll share some backgrounds:

We developed the smallest all-in-one solar light, the Solar Muscle. It was singled out by the Economist Magazine as one of the solutions for poverty and shortlisted for the Aid Expo innovation award.

But we need your help: we are now also selling to 'western' customers, as the lights are great for outdoors, photography and in case or power failures (Sandy, anyone?) or just to light up that spot under your desk when you need it (I have been there :)

I got the chance to join the Critical Mass in Buenos Aires. This shot was taken just before the start at the center of the widest street in the world (which we cycled back in on later that night!). It is actually a 4-shot hand-held panorama, which is a challenge to edit as it involves several hundreds moving people and parallax, but I think there are nearly no ghosts :)

I have ridden the SF mass as well and again it was wonderful to reclaim the streets with thousands of cyclists riding together, taking up a fraction of the space that thousands of cars would have.

If you think that critical mass and protests will have no influence, please check out this video, explaining how the Dutch got their cycle paths (not so long ago!):
How the Dutch got their cycle paths . Yes, by doing exactly this.

A scan from an old slide (8 years :)), taken on the side of the Karakoram Highway in Pakistan. Somehow in many countries I visited I found that when asking if I could take a photo (if they decline, I don't), many people agree. The moment you point the actual camera, the smiles top and seriousness takes over! This has changed a lot since digital cameras allowed to show the image immediately..

This is a view over the upper Khumbu Glacier leading the way for climbers to the highest mountain in the world. Mount Everest is the black peak, which seems lower than Nuptse, but Nuptse is closer.

An interesting mix of HDR, Pano stitching and Tilt/shift as I used the 24mm T/s lens and bracketed 3x3 exposures.

As promised to +Athena Carey, here is a shot that took about one hour to prepare (not including the 6 hr drive and 5 hr hike/ski :) and 16 minutes to take. This is Cerro Tronador, an extinct volcano (though the area is still quite active) of 3400m/11,000ft. It sticks 1500m /5000ft above all neighbouring mountains and is covered in huge glaciers with thousands of crevasses (check Google Earth!).

I wanted to use my 135mm 2.0 lens for a long exposure to see how that would work out, but the preparation was a nightmare. There was no moon and the stars on this side were not bright, so live preview did not work when focusing on the pitch dark mountain. Even if I focused on the brightest star, the mountain would be out of focus at F2.0.
The depth of field is so limited (and it has the best bokeh ever) on this lens that even at a long distance it is difficult to get everything in focus. Infinity is... more »

We made it! Up and down and in basically one piece (though not undamaged, but that's mostly superficial :).

We climbed Patagonian Cerro Tronador up to the Argentinean summit of about 3200m. It does not sound much, but after driving 6 hours on Saturday we had to hike and ski from 800m to about 1800m and do some snow and ice practice.

The next morning/day ski and climb up to the summit and go all the way back down (15 hrs total) and drive back the same day. Talk about a long weekend, even if it fit in 2 days!

Saturday night would have been a good time to sleep, but we did not carry the tripod up for nothing! So I took some night pictures including a 360x90 degrees panorama from the milky way and the mountain. It looks best as a swf/mov file.

As the weather will be unexpected good this weekend, I will be heading up a mountain the next few days, Cerro Tronador (say hi if you are near :).
So this is an early submission for #sciencesunday and other weekend themes.

This is a slide scan, taken with Eos3 on Provia, on Mount Everest (Tibet Side) in September 2004, so the off season after the monsoon. We were the only team (6 climbers + Sherpa friends) on the mountain! When carrying supplies to 6600m suddenly this interesting phenomenon appeared and with my wide angle lens I could capture the total scene...

From WikiPedia:

"A 22° halo is a halo, one type of optical phenomenon, forming a circle 22° around the sun, or occasionally the moon. How so scan slides
As asked by +Margaret Tompkins : here is a good tip to help you with the dreadful task of going through boxes of old slides.
- The #1 tip is.... to get a young and unpaid assistant, who has no emotional attachment with the slides.
- Let him compare any two slides and choose the best or even tastiest one
- Come back in an hour and only scan the ones that are in a 10cm/4 inch circle around him, considering the rest (r)ejected!  :)

Here are 3 pictures of my favourite assistant!

For all the young fathers, I know +Colby Brown is one, who else has a free assistant like this running or crawling around?

Another recently scanned slide, shot about 10 years ago on B/W slide, likely Ilford 400.. 2 climbers are finishing the Cosmiques Arrete on the Aiguille du Midi, ending up at the cable car station. Mt Blanc's summit (as well as Mont Moudit in front and Mt Blanc du Tacul in front of that) are visible in the back.

I climbed this ridge a few days later, it is airy and wonderful!

This was shot nearly 10 years ago on slide using an old Eos. Do you know that famous '7 star hotel'? Well, this was taken from the heli-pad :)

Don't worry, I have never spent $10,000/night for a hotel suite, (not even 1% of that I think). We were the field production crew on of the first interactive adventure races on TV/Internet, the PlanetRace.

This was one place the contestants had to find (we hid clues here, so they could find the next destination). While waiting, I leaned over the edge of the helipad (you can see the shadow of the pad in the bay/marina), in order to take this photo. It caused some heartattacks of the numerous security guys, but they were afraid to touch me :)

Dubai is just a strip of luxury at the edge of the desert and since then many more huge hotels, private islands and the largest tower in the world have been added...

This is for all the people in the USA, that can vote today, a view from the highest point in the USA, scanned from a slide from June 2003.
It is hard as there are basically only 2 choices and both are considered sub-optimal (euphemism) internationally. Vote wisely, think about the planet you have borrowed from your children (and I mean Earth, not 'Kolob' ;) and do the right thing.

Ever seen a rat the size of a large pitbull? Sounds scarier than they are, but the Capybara are the largest rodents around...

They came to this pool to cool off, even though there were a dozen or so small alligators in there as well. Like a boss!

Wikipedia: "The capybara (Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris) is the largest extant rodent in the world. Its closest relatives are agouti, chinchillas, coyphillas, and guinea pigs. Native to South America, the capybara inhabits savannas and dense forests and lives near bodies of water. It is a highly social species and can be found in groups as large as 100 individuals, but usually lives in groups of 10–20 individuals. The capybara is not a threatened species, though it is hunted for its meat and skin."

As I was asked by +Wray Post what I was doing in Pakistan, here is a partial answer :)

Chogolisa is a beautiful but hard to climb mountain. Famous climber Herman Buhl died here. We did not summit after being over a month in Pakistan, but did have a great time hiking and climbing through an amazing landscape.

This shot was taken in the late evening from our Advanced Base Camp, shot on slidefilm using a Canon Eos3. And no, I am not savvy enough to do multiple exposures /composites on slides, it really looked like this :)

I went through some old slides today, taken 6-12 years ago. This was shot in Pakistan, where the local trucks are almost entirely made by hand (!), on top of a Bedford chassis.

These guys spend weeks building the wooden frames and then perfecting the look of their truck. All done by hand and no two are the same, which makes the dangerous driving situations a little more fun to be in :)

Shot with Canon Eos3, probably Provia film and likely the excellent sigma 15-30mm lens

Huascarán is one of the highest mountains outside of Asia. Here you can see both summits, towering over what seems to be a nice park but is in fact one of the largest mass-graves on the planet:

(WikiPedia) On May 31, 1970 a debris avalanche caused by the 1970 Ancash earthquake buried the whole town, killing 25,000 people. The earthquake triggered an unstable mass of glacial ice about 800 meters across at the top of Nevado Huascarán to fall.
More than 50 million cubic meters of debris slid approximately 15 kilometers downhill at an angle of about 14 degrees. Speeds between 200 km/h to 400 km/h were achieved.
Only 92 people survived, most of whom were in the cemetery and stadium at the time of the earthquake, as these zones were the highest in town.
The Peruvian government has forbidden excavation in the area where the old town of Yungay is buried, declaring it a national cemetery.T... more »

I have not done much night photography, but am looking forward to doing more. This was taken a few months ago, in autumn; from a beach at Lake Machonico, about 20km from our town. It was a meteorite night and we saw many, though they were not captured here.

Composite of 4 12-minute exposures, and it was freezing cold! Plan was to have more exposures, but the fog came up over the lake... time to hit the tent instead.

The lake is located at 4600m (15k ft) altitude and the steep mountain towering over it is Chacraraju, 6112m. This is a composite of 5 images.
