Still Smiling
I put Ivy and Bean to the test yesterday and brought them to work with me. They took over the shipping duties and helped me haul this box off to FedEx. The smiles never left their faces all day long. What an inspiration these two are!

When you stay positive, it's harder for other people to be negative...and that can only be a good thing.

My mother continues to give, never caring about getting anything in return. Thank you so much for:
Teaching us about kindness and compassion and love...
Teaching us how to behave and not turn into selfish little monsters...
Teaching us values and morals and not to use profanity in public...
Giving us self-confidence by always praising our efforts and encouraging us to try and try again....
And most important, thank you for always making us feel safe and beautiful and loved. I love you more than words can say....I only wish you didn't live so far away so I could give you a big hug now:)

"The average orb web is practically invisible, and it is easy to blunder into one and end up covered with a sticky web. The very easily visible pattern of banded silk made by Argiope is pure white, and some species make an "X" form, or a zigzag type of web (often with a hollow center). The spider then aligns one pair of its legs with each of the four lines in the hollow "X", making a complete "X" of white lines with a very eye-catching spider colored bright yellow on a field of black or variegated red white and yellow stripes forming its center. The white patterns are called stabilimentum and reflect UV light. They have been shown to play a role in attracting prey to the web, and possibly to prevent its destruction by large animals. The fruits of most prickly pears are edible and sold in stores under the name "tuna." Prickly pear branches (the pads) are also cooked and eaten as a vegetable. They, too, are sold in stores under the name "Nopalito." Because of the glochids, great care is required when harvesting or preparing prickly pear cactus. Both fruits and pads of the prickly pear cactus are rich in slowly absorbed soluble fibers that may help keep blood sugar stable. Prickly Pear Nectar is made with the juice and pulp of the fruits.
