We are notifying you of a potential issue affecting 9-1-1 calling from some Android devices.  Certain devices are unable to complete calls to 9-1-1 if they are using VoIP applications such as Skype or Viber, and have made these apps the default call dialer on the device. If your device settings for your VoIP applications are set to 'always', then you are using this app as the default call dialer. 

If you have made a VoIP app your default call dialer you can reset your default settings from your device by following these steps:

    1. Tap "Settings"

One of the things I really love about Google+ is, not only are they attempting to build the best social media experience, they are open to FEEDBACK!  Over the past few hours I have seen many many complaints about the new UI.  Google+ has a good tool for your concerns to be heard. 

Since the new UI rollout I have found a couple glitches, things that don't work like they used to, or things that may not be as intuitive as I think they should be.  So I am sending FEEDBACK, as I know many of you are too.

However, if you are unsure how to go about doing that it is under your left HOME menu, at the bottom.  They will take you through the steps from there, and VOILA your concerns are logged!

Lets all work together to help Google+ make this experience even better bypassing... more »

View Post Activity

If you are like me, once in a while I like to see a summary on who has +1'd or commented on a certain post.  I really like the new "flipboard" function in G+ now.  It will flip your post over and provide your summary there.

You can get to this by clicking right on the icons of the people who have +1'd or commented or you can use the dropdown arrow and choose View Post Activity.

Try it.  :)

Testing out a post and a higher rez photo on the new layout.  I LOVE LOVE LOOOOOVE the posting box that pops up!!! 

The three column view is making me extremely happy.  What do you all think so far? 

I know, it's different.  Step back from that, look at it, take it in.  What are your thoughts so far?  Like?  No Like?

I am voting a resounding LOVE so far.

I don't have a Blackberry, but I used to.  The ONLY thing I missed and longed for when I ditched my blackberry was BBM.  I know many people who use blackberry primarily for work etc., and loosing that easy contact with them was frustrating.

Blackberry just announced they are preparing to offer BBM to rival phones.  I didn't think I would smile at something Blackberry did ever again.  They made me think a little harder on that today.

New Myspace users

So, I got on The New Myspace and hung around for a little bit.  Made connections, posted photos, connected and listened to music.  But.... it has totally fizzled for me.  I haven't touched it in, well I can't remember when actually.

Have any of you found it inspiring?  Have you found it a great additional tool?  Did you find a new unique way to use it?  Or have you like me, given up on it?

Got out to Kerry Park for the sunset Saturday night at the Seattle Photowalk.  Yeah, I know the usuals have seen and shot this a gazillion times.  But it was my first time, and this is one of my shots.

The view of the city is really beautiful from this location, and the park was packed!

Jake's assignment for everyone was "Capture the spirit of Seattle"

Here is my submission.  The Seattle Spirit could be mountains, ocean, berkinstocks, Starbucks, urban picnics, nightlife, but when I think of Seattle, the Space Needle is always what comes to my mind.

Boys like to dress-up too

I found this $10 generic superhero outfit today and picked it up for Colin.  He took one look at it with wide eyes and said "Which superhero does this outfit belong to??" he was thinking, either Captain America, or maybe Superman etc... I told him it belonged to him.

He looked at me puzzled and asked the question again.  I said, Colin, YOU are the superhero this outfit belongs to!  Forget Captain America, you can be Captain Colin!

That got a big grin.

Hugh came home, saw the outfit and I immediately had to go back out to the store and buy another outfit for him.  Sheesh, he kept telling me he didn't want one, until he saw Captain Colin.  :)

This just really... blows my mind!!  

Oh I did want to add something though... we aren't looking at a single "atom" here, they used carbon monoxide molecules (two atoms per dot) to conduct the movie.  It still blows my mind.  Imagine how utterly complicated it was to do this.

Hairdryer unnecessary!

As I progressively refine my technique (this is my 4th attempt) my  nightly soaked shirt finally starts to pay off. Here is not only a  #selfy , but also my first  #waterportrait . This is so much fun, you can expect more to appear in my stream in the coming days.

We have friends coming over for dinner Saturday night. So to the question "What can we bring?" My answer was obvious:

Bubblicious

Instead of driving you all crazy with my individual bubble shots, I thought I would throw everything in one album along with a behind the scenes shot of my setup today.  

Pretty basic!  Just a tall glass of water with dish soap in it, frothed up with a straw now and again.  I sat it in the sunshine and went about my business.  

I am using my Canon EFS 55-250mm lens on my 7D with three macro extension tubes together.
