Zarucco Duskywing (Erynnis zarucco) on Lantana

Wow! I'm at one of my fave places--Allen Acres near Pitkin, La.,--and I almost didn't get to shoot today. Cleaning sensor of my camera before heading out this morning, I accidentally turned off one of the "custom functions" that must be turned on so that I can use my old, film camera lenses on my DSLR. Could not figure out what was wrong. Fortunately had internet; went on line to JustAnswers and got help from Mike. Had to pay for the info, but it was worth it. Thanks, Mike, wherever you are!!!!  Got the camera working and went out quickly in the fading light. Shot 40+ frames and this is one of the better ones.

Louisiana Natives: Pale Coneflower

This is one of my first successes with my DSLR in photographing wildflowers. I took it while on a hike/exploration of native plant life with a wonderful organization called the Louisiana Native Plant Society. And I'm re-sharing it now because I'm about to hop in my car and head to Pitkin, La., and another gathering of said Society. We will had a plant and butterfly ID workshop this afternoon, a night tour of a wooded area, and hike/exploration Sat. a.m. of bogs, baygalls and other ecological pockets specific to Louisiana. Expect to come home with hundreds of new images!

Tree Ferns

I loved the tree ferns of Australia! This shot was taken from an amazing structure in the Illawarra rain forest called the "Tree Top Walk." It's a suspension walkway hanging off the side of a mountain.  Wonderful experience!

15 Minutes of Glory

I found these beauties on what is really a kind of homely little tree that is considered a bit of a pest--grows like weeds everywhere. And soon these buds will turn into green pods that turn into brown pods. But for a short time in the spring, they are a patch of luscious red glory.

 i am here to bring awareness to all of you.  
Do you have any questions about my Crohn's Disease or any other IBD {Inflammatory Bowel Disease}?  
IBD is very different from IBS {Irritable Bowel Syndrome},
so please try not to get the two confused.
Millions of people all over the world are affected by this life crippling disease, it's time to get the word out so we can find a cure or at least get a little understanding as to what we go through on a daily basis.  I also want to thank all of you that have reached out to me and to others who struggle with similar issues.

Much loved by the ticks

Too So many things are happening right now, so am sorry about not posting much these days.

The Scavenger hunt releases has started...strawberry first...yum!

The hepatica (spring flower) vernissage is still up for views for anyone in my area, not sure for how long though, maybe a week more.

Then a photo book I'm participating in (HWSI) was released today!

And tomorrow, another book I'm contributing to, is released! 

And tomorrow is also the start of what is closest to my heart, as many of you know, thus the photo. Have been ill for 25+ years with Lyme disease, and I also have several awful coinfections. It gave me Lymezheimer among other things.

Does anyone have any idea what the heck is going on? I was trying to share a photo to a community and kept getting an "error--retry" message. So I bailed out of my albums then went back in. Now, if I can get to my albums, I can't open any albums, and about half the time I'm getting a "you have no albums" message!
