Something I've had my mind in doing for a while, along with many other things mind LOL This is Perseus in front of the full Moon, ready for battle to save Andromeda! I might add a beast at some point :P

Made from an image of the full Moon I took at Llyn Padarn, Wales and an image of a Perseus statue I took in London. Wales is full of lore too anyway, if not as famous as Greece :)

All the best to everyone and thanks for looking

I think, this is my new favorite photo! Just a few hours ago at South Stack on Anglesey. Have been here at night a few times, but has always been far too windy to bother with any night photos. Was just a gentle breeze earlier (sounds well windy now already though, calm don't last long in North Wales!) and very mild for nearly end of November (in fact, noticed new blossoms on my raspberry bush earlier, not sure there's any bees around to pollinate them though). Anyway yeah, dark night, lighthouse and a bit of sea mist...I'm a happy girl tonight! :)

Thanks for looking and hope everyone is fine

Full Moon a few weeks back, rising behind the Liver building. Was taken across the river, at Seacombe Ferry's promenade. Had about 4 minutes of viewable Moon, just a spot where it peeked through the clouds here! Had headed up to Liverpool just for it, so was relieved I got even that 4 minutes LOL

Not totally content with having a wildfire in my astrophotos, headed off to find another lake, and Llyn Gwenant had the angle for some more Milky Way. Though the cloud started moving in, so was the last stop for the night.

A few things you don't get all togerther in Snowdonia much....clear, dark skies...and a forest fire! Wasn't where were any houses at least. But sorta ruined my Milky Way photos?! Though, doubtful to be had again anyway!

Been meaning to make a folder of such, and being just finished some photos for someone's promotional material and some elses portfolio..thought was a good time to start it. So basically, random stuff that sometimes keeps me too busy to go out and do landscapes!

I see, a blood Moon a rising!

My addition to the full 'blood' Moon, harvest Moon, Tues April 15th. It wasn't the shot I headed out for, but all the places I had in mind (for a telescopic Moon rise) couldn't get somewhere with the right angle, height and distance all working together. Drove to many places shortlisted, and longlisted, in mind. Ended up, just out on some farm land doing a non-telescopic one...but at least happened to rise just behind a nice trio of trees. The color, has not been edited or enhanced at all...and was even darker and redder when was right on the horizon...'blood' Moon was actually a perfect name for this harvest Moon. We didn't get the eclipse here in the UK...shame as was actually clear! Thanks for looking! #bloodmoon   #harvestmoon   #fullmoon   #fullmoonrising

Hiya, this was on the night last week, that I was going to do night photos over the beach..but alas, coasts were pea soup. So headed into the mountains instead, where was clear as a bell (opposite from normal really most the time LOL). Stopped by Llyn Ogwen first, but it was at Llyn Gwenant, at the foot of Snowdon, that I ended up preferring shoot from. I know Polaris isn't in shot, but to me, it works anyway so mnlah! Last week at Aberffraw. Didn't get long out there...if you see the low cloud in the distance, was sea fog, and wasn't long before the whole Isle of Anglesey was pea soup! For the ones I did get, was kinda cool, if just cause blanked out the distant hills of the peninsula to make it a bit of a change. Was very bad though, as had wanted to do some night photos on a beach later! I took some creepy, foggy beach photos at Trearddur Bay afterwards though LOL

Rare gimpse of a sunset this winter! Been so stormy blah. This day last week, the winds were so strong still, was nothing but spray constantly, even though wasn't even close to where the waves were actually breaking.

Hope everyone is well!

Man, G+ always diff set up when I come on!
Anyway, went out to Anglesey to try and catch some big waves at high tide...but as the Sun set, happen to drive by this house that's quite the landmark there...the sun setting just behind, as it broke through the clouds for about the first time in the day until then.
Is an Edwardian house, built by the man who founded the sailing club there as a holiday home. Apparantly, is still owned by the family who take turns holidaying there (though someone once told me it was a school and they went there, who knows).
The spray and foam was so bad, I had to wash my car afterwards! And kept me from any even long-ish exposures. But a cracking sunset anyhoo, was lucky enough to catch!

Hope everyone is good and a Happy New Year to all

After sunset, went down the road a bit and set up telescope to try and get a very very young Moon. Was SUPER windy, which despite trying to cover behind the car, was jus giving too much shake. But out of them all, managed 2 that are ok...so happy enough! Clouds obscured the Moon before it got close to the horizon  sadly, was hoping to get Holyheads harbour lights in frame. After that, was super dark, but was just too windy for night photos boohoo. But excited to get sliver Moon!

Out playing in the dark again! Missed the best, dark nights sadly, boohoo. But the bright Moon is ok sometimes, as did well to highlight the mountain and trees. A bit of a theme been trying to sort lately, so if all works out will be a few more of this theme, will see.

Thanks for the peek and hope everyone's well. A late autumn this year compared to last, so waiting for some nice color change and hopefully nice autumnal photos woop!! Cheers

Managed to just make it to Llynnau Mymbyrr for sunset with that lovely sky and nice, still waters....But yes, the midgies were horrendous! Swarming incessantly, so annoying they are LOL This was when I was running back to the car actually LOL, but wanted to get the lake with the flowers growing there, so had to stop and deal with the swarm a little longer!

Hi there! Had to head up into the mountains to replace some prints at one of the hotels I sell them at, and the weather actually cooperated, very nicely too actually. This is along the River Conwy, just downstream from the popular Fairy Glenn area by Betws-y-Coed. I've visited this very spot many times, but have always come back disappointed, but actually went away happy on this day. Conditions couldn't have been better...well, there could have been less midgies! They tormented me everywhere! Luckily only 2 bites though LOL

Oh should add, was using a polariser..and actually remembered to adjust it to my liking...you'd not believe how often I forget to adjust it, get lost in the landscape sometimes LOL

Thanks for looking, and your feedback is always greatly appreciated.

Back to a bit more normal images from me...sunset over the Conwy estruary. This should make 100 images in my seascapes gallery! Though, a bit questionable if the estruary is true seascape! It opens unto the sea anyway LOL

If anyone who takes the time to read this knows (and thanks much to all who do read my ramblings)...what on earth do you do to sort the cover photo?! When I've been on, I try and sort it, but I can't get it to not be gigantoid! I've looked each time, and can't find a way to make it not gigantoid...and I think it looks silly all super huge. And can't even find how to just NOT have a cover photo, instead of gigantoid one. Either would be fine! No cover photo...or how to make it not be all huge! LOL

The house I moved to a few months back (which am still only half unpacked :P ) has a decent sized, lil' back garden. Was in a pretty neglected state, but wanted to do what I could to make it nice....despite having a very brown thumb! So selected things that should do ok, pretty much on their own in the climate here. I have a  pretty healthy looking pumpkin and butternut squash growing at the moment, and some various things. Seems impossible to keep up on keeping look very tidy though! But I chose one corner to plant some wildflower seeds, and now have a smattering of very lovely flowers. If i had more time, money to spend on it and know-how, would love an amazing little garden, but it's not bad anyway for my brown thumb! I even keep seeing a toad (who one night had a snail hitching a ride on it's back, it's lil buddy?! LOL) and a newt or such. I could do without seeing all the slugs... more »

Same spot as last image, but diff lights obviously. Admittedly, my lightpainting is something I lack in. I find it hard doing them on my own. One, I'm one of those people who bounce ideas and feed off others' mutual discussions greatly. But I lack those others to do it with! I have one friend who seems to really invigorate me creatively with our bouncing ideas...but rarely see them :( And two, some things I have in mind for lightpainting, seem pretty impossible to implement by yourself. Ah well! I do quite like this one though. Was done with my lightsaber! haha Sadly, clouded over to keep me from doing star trails, boohoo!

Hello!

Gosh, not been on in a long while, been so busy. But thought should come and add a photo. just a simple lightpainting doo, but like the abstract quality of it. Was initially doing star trails, but I was being attacked by bugs! So went on th e otherside of the lake and started playing on the boats landing stage. I did some wool spinning too (managed one as my lighter ran out of fluid on the first go LOL) but I like this better than the spin image.

Anyway, thanks for looking and hope everyone's well

Hiya,

After taking some food photos yesterday, thought was too nice to head straight home, so headed to Penmon on Anglesey, as haven't been there for ages. Oh forgot how lovely a drive it is to there! Cloud moved in before sunset annoyingly, but was lovely until then with the tide coming in, mild and pretty light winds for there. This was an 8 second exposure I think.

Thanks for looking and hope everyone is well.

Been really busy with some photo work, so not been able to go out despite the good weather. Just some commercial stuff, so probs not terribly interesting! But a bit of arty mixed in, so might share a few photos from it as I reckon came out pretty nice. But, I did get round to a long desired edit on this image. I had long thought, a face forming in the 'smoke' was well on order. Then a friend mentioned why he was never very happy with the image. So took the constructive criticism into account with the face I wanted to add, and this is the end result. I do think it needed an actual genie forming out of the mist on any account!

Thanks so much to those of you who always take the time to view my images, I do really appreciate it and wish I had more time to spend on here with you all. I was doing some product photos for someone the other day, and she was saying how she's on G+, Facebook and... more »

Hellooooo...well, still very windy out, but nice otherwise, so thought I'd have a wander to the lake. I can't think of what it's called (anyone round here sees this who knows, lemme know please!), but I think this is some particular tree on Llyn Padarn in Llanberis, that is a popular subject when the water level is high. It's not as far into the lake as it appears, and seems like there's more than 1 that could be it LOL

Was nice today, so thought I'd go get some more wintry images since my fav mountain spots are close-by now too. After a few stops headed to Llyn Ogwen and couldn't believe how much snow is piled up. Was hard to walk round as the pavement was loaded up with mulitple feet of snow, so just walked along the lakeside. The lake is very frozen over and covered in snow and many plants alongside it covered in icicles cause of the strong winds through the last week or two to boot. Was the same in Llanberis Pass...funny as 10 minutes away at my place, there was no snow accumilation at all! Main shame was it was hard to get to where the massive icicles were on the north facing side, which was what I had actually gone there for, but this will do!

Finally behind the lens again! Well, ok, had just nipped to Caernarfon to go to the store, but was good timing anyway for a wee bit of sunset at the harbour. Already so happy with moving house, good to be so near the coast again.

This is the Old Grey Lady, has been a very popular model in these parts for a long time. A large, abandoned boat on the bank of the River Conwy, not far from the castle. This is from nearly 3 years ago. Since that time, someone painted over the grafitti and last year she was set a light and damaged badly. So sad as was a great subject. There was another boat up the river a ways that's no longer there too. Was just a huge, amazing rusty thing.

Anyway, have finished moving house, missed all the good weather while packing and cleaning! Another week unpacking and sorting and hopefully be good to go to get out on my feet shooting again. Really happy with my new house and the area though, is much better all round and closer to fav spots, so hopefully some nice spring days to head to some of those spots for some new images!

Hope everyone's good and thanks for looking and your support,... more »

Well, have had a load of snow up here for the last week. But tomorrow, the big thaw is supposed to begin. And never know if this is it for the winter or if we'll get more...but don't seem to get more than one real big snow even around here per year...can happen, but hard frost more likely it seems. Anyway, one from walking 'round my 'hood the other day. Roamed up and down the farmland and just a lil diddy this, but I like it for some reason. I have these amazing winter-keep-your-feet-warm socks. Was just wearing those and my wellies and was standing in the middle of this stream...after walking through much snowy farmlands and hills to get here...and toes fine. Can't remember the brand though and need more of these! Awesome!
Anyway, even though a pain to drive with it this cold for so long from up here...am gonna miss all the pretty fluffy stuff!

Well, hiked round my place yesterday for snowy photos, but today couldn't resist the call of a snowy Tryfan down the hill and across the valley from me. Llyn Ogwen was well iced over (no one ice skating on it though, as had frozen waves, being was windy when the snows were first falling!). Was a brief visit as also wanted to hit Llynnau Mumbyrr....but wasn't so good over there and regretted not spending more time by here! Both at my place and here, so hard walking through, as since it was windy when the snows were falling, it was all drifting...so walking along dahdahdahdah...and then step into 3 or 4 feet of snow haha Ah, so lovely though. Just a shame it's not frequent enough for things to run smoothly when it snows here.

Headed out into the snow last night with the intention of doing some lightpainting in the snow. I wasn't impressed with my results. But while out there decided to get the Moon to Jupiter conjunction (Jupiter being the bright star to the very left of the Moon) with Orion...and decided to throw the glowstix I was playing with earlier into the image, and quite like the glowstix in it LOL So some near lightpainting combined with some near astrophotography...and lots of snow up here!

These are some falls along the road on the way to my dentist. I don't actually head this way very often, but the times I have, always noticed them and meant to stop. So gave myself some extra time before appt to stop! This was in Oct I think, had been hoping would be fall-like, but as you see, still very green!

Had to nip into town today for a few things..brought camera along just in case of course. Down along some areas of the valley, no sunlight shines down all winter, so if it gets frosty, it stays and builds until above freezing. This is only a few days worth, but have seen the frost over a week and it looks amazing! Don't think cold spell is going to last that long, so luckily came across a bit of farmland at sunset that was nice and frosty. I think cause I grew up in the desert, I just love wintry shots! I've given this one a bit of a diffused look to try and give a dreamy edge.

Thanks much to recent comments and +'s!  Always appreciated

Was sitting here minding my own business, and the sky had to go and do that. This is right by my house. As you see from the ground, tis very cold today! Just wanted to sit here with my blankie! LOL Didn't crack above freezing at my place, very thick ice where the Sun didn't manage shine on. Hoping another day or two of this, and might get some icicle action along the waterfalls. Wish I was at a beach for this though!

Least didn't come out with a shotgun :P

This one woulda been good for Halloween?! I like creepy looking statues anyway LOL Or fancy ones, or about any statue I suppose! The was in the gardens of Alton Towers on my daughters birthday last year. Was looking through the folder and saw a handful I never processed that I had marked...so something to do while the weather's been icky....oh, like it's not the norm I suppose!

Hope everyone's well wherever you are!

Oh, just one more autumn photo before I go quiet again for a bit. this was from today actually, on the way to the grocery store! Ok, I did take a detour to the store to stop here...but mainly cause they're filling holes on the road to my town and a big dump truck has been blocking the road the last few days, so detour it was...and not a bad detour!

Thanks for the comments and pluses, much appreciated. Nearing my end of month, mobile internet cycle, where I can use the rest of my bandwidth to catch up with people, so will hopefully catch up with some of you soon, cheers :)

Took my first proper venture into the Lake District on Sunday 4th Nov. My daughter wanted to go to Blackpool to see the illuminations for her birthday, so we went to Blackpool (which I actually had a nice time LOL we used to live there, and was kinda dreading it and not expecting to like it much. But was really festive and the LOADS of people there in good spirits) Instead of driving back to Wales afterwards, we took a nap in the car at the motorway services and headed into the lakes at dawn. I think it was worth the pain. For as the sun started to rise over the frosty landscape, mist started rising over anywhere there was water. Luckily, happened along the River Leven at Newby Bridge and a handy spot to get some images. Even my daughter said I needed to run out there LOL We drove round the west coast of the lakes and up to the northern edge and then back down through the middle of it. After a whirlwind... more »

After a whirlwind tour, see why it's so popular there, really lovely and nicer than I thought it'd be. Sadly, being a sunny Sunday at the end of school hols, it was extrememly busy and made it pretty impossible to stop many places for images. Kept making dodgy stops and popping out real quick! Reckon the ones from the morning were best of the day and worth getting hardly any sleep for...especially since I am VERY rarely out for any kind of sunrise! haha

Thanks for looking and hope all's fine where ever you are___

Very late Saturday night we had a rare clear night on the same night as a meteor shower. So at stupid o'clock, collected my daughter and camera gear - choosing my modified Canon 40D over my usual 5D, to go search for a good meteor shower spot near home, but away from the few street lights. Well, we DID see a handful, and they were pretty long, but that was it boohoo! And none ended up in camera frame, extra boohoo (shoulda brought the 5d after all I think!). But while waiting, I got this image of Orion I'm quite fond of with the old tires along the fence. And my daughter enjoyed driving around at 3am, so not all was lost! Don't think it's my best astro image by any means, but just love the tires sitting there for some reason!

First stop on autumn search, was a secluded spot along the River Conwy I'd meant to check out last autumn. Hey! Got one autumnal branch hanging down there! LOL Couldn't get down to the river right at this spot, so was precariously hanging down on a branch with tripod peculiarly mounted between said branch, dodgy rocks and hillside...managed to keep still enough for the longish exposures though!

Went out and about my neighborhood yesterday in search of autumn. Was sunny finally, and though when you drive around the colors are starting to show, it seems it's all mainly alongside the roads. The two spots I found I liked best yesterday, all that really was autumny, was what leaves have already fallen...but will do for now I suppose!

This one is along the Afon Machno (Machno River) on the way towards Penmachno in North Wales. it is an ancient Roman pack horse bridge. Whether fully, originally intact, or rebuilt sometime over the last 2 millenia after Roman rule, don't know. But it has barbed wire to keep people off the top, so....
May revisit the next few weeks in the hopes of it being properly autumnal along it though!
