The furniture are the walls, the stair, the bookshelves and the structure.
The thermo walls are 17" x 9' x 24' SIP from Murus, R60 for the walls and R75 for the ceiling. The envelop is seal with Cat 5, Jiont Seal, Fast Flash and Air Daw from R-Guard.
The Optiwin windows 3 woods, triple glazes, interior swing, U=.125.
The 2" custom shutter are made with a 1" rigid insulation, R=30 from Vacupor.
The cedar siding is seal with cedar shield wood preservative exterior wall finish.
All fasteners are stainless steel.
The interior framing; roof decking, roof rafters, floor joist, wall framing and floor are made of rough pine lumber treated with natural wax.

Following the SIP envelop, this is the interior framing. The interior framing isn't a platform framing or a balloon framing system. The interior framing is support by the SIP envelop. All the elements of the interior framing are fabricated with exposed rough lumber including the floors. "Thermos Framing" is produce with SIP by removing all the thermal bridge, any additional structural elements are added either on the exterior surface or the interior of the "Thermos".

d’architecture is pleased to present the exhibition Vive la Ville! Hommage à Melvin Charney par
ses élèves from January 30 to March 17, 2013. The opening will take place on January 30 at

The fifty odd works in this exhibition, framed by photography of Montreal’s landscapes - tacit
references to the writings of the master - seek to demonstrate the importance of the teaching
and the thought of Melvin Charney, while demonstrating the diversity of lessons gleaned from

1. Croquis architectural : dessin à main levée par observation. Le cours est une interprétation et fait référence à la recherche et aux publications du Dr Betty Edwards.
2. Dessin Graphique : dessin de perception visuel en plan, élévation, section, axonométrie, isométrie et perspective. Le cours est une interprétation et une adaptation de la recherche et des publications de Francis D. K. Ching, de Peter A. Koenig et de Frederic H. G. Jones.
3. Dessin d’exécution : dessin technique et préparation de documents de construction. Interprétation de ma pratique architecturale.

Un autre projet d'envergure est celui de la <<Union Savings Bank>> de Danbury. Ce projet de décoration intérieures a évolué et est devenu le siège social de la banque, puis un projet de restauration historique d'un bâtiment victorien romanesque (1866) qui sera finalement reconnu comme bâtiment historique par l'Etat du Connecticut et la Nation américaine.

En pratique privée depuis 1991, je produis des projets architecturaux a échelle résidentielle, commerciale et institutionnelle. Les projets qui me fascinent le plus ont toujours un caractère historique. Par exemple, le projet du << Eli Whitney Museum>> fut un projet de très longue durée, de la planification générale du site aux diverses phases de restauration, de rénovation et de construction. Ce projet a exige, sur une période de plus de dix ans, une planification du site, gestion de projet, supervision de chantier, tout en y intégrant la conception des bâtiments et l'exécution des plans et devis.

Ma recherche architecturale est considérablement influencée par des architectes qui ont participe a ma formation: Melvin Charney (Yale, 1959) et Mohsen Mostafavi (Architectural Association in England, 1976), de même que par ceux avec qui j'ai travaille: William Pederson (Harvard, 1934) Eric Epstein (Yale, 1977) et Pierre Strauch (Yale, 1970). Mes intérêts architecturaux touchent la recherche d'une architecture résidentielle, plus particulièrement les constructions en bois représentant une couleur locale.

This gouache on paper, 16 frames of 16"x16", "The Shop Angus neighborhood" or "Shack on the Track" is from my time at the University of Montreal. The industrial revolution with promises of health and a new economy came downtown. The river of steel needed room a lot of room, splitting neighborhood today the car replace the train and the train left some scars.
During that time, my grandfather as a pioneer arrive in a forest land got out of the train and build a new life with a small shack on the track. Here, "Shack on the track" is the re-urbanization of the Shop Angus, Montreal, Canada.
The canvas exploded and the canvas frame became the frame. The drawings are base on a maps of Montreal, collage of images and gouache paint.
