It doesn't get much more minimalist than this!

I took this snapshot of the red kayak on the Irish Sea about two weeks ago in Skerries, Co. Fingal, Ireland, during some strange (bloody brilliant) weather (record breaking highs) we were having. Over two or three days this phenomenon of invisible horizons kept coming and going, and the kayaker in his red kayak was the perfect contrast for a bit of perspective.

One of a series I did on the EMP museum in Seattle. I have had these photos on my deviantART account (http://giessen.deviantart.com) for over two years now and they have attracted next to 0 appreciation. (This photo has only 1 fave)

So imagine my surprise when I installed Windows 7 on my new computer and discovered the new architecture theme is a nearly identical series of photographs of the EMP!

Just goes to show you how important your name and connections are in the photography world, rather than the concept or even quality of your photos.

Oh and in case anyone thinks I'm accusing anyone of stealing from me, I'm not! I don't think anyone saw my photos and copied the idea, I'm sure there are dozens of other photographers with similar shots of the EMP.
