Memes in Real Life
As I approached a Honda Civic who was cruising in the fast lane absentmindedly, I positioned myself to pass him on the right, and I noticed he aggressively accelerated to not allow me to pass him (why do people do that?). So, I decided to have a little fun.
Downshifting in to third, I gunned it and whipped past him by half a mile in a few seconds; and as I slowed down to a responsible cruising speed, I looked at my girlfriend who was in the passenger seat. This conversation followed:
"Oh, look at my penis" she said mockingly.
"Nice. Well, you know what they say" I prompted, as I discretely removed my sunglasses.
"What?"
"Shoulda had a V8." I said with a straight face as I CSI-Miami'd my sunglasses back onto my head.

Each morning, like clockwork, they board the subway, off to begin their daily routine amidst the hustle and bustle of the city.
But these aren't just any daily commuters. These are stray dogs who live in the outskirts of Moscow Russia and commute on the underground trains to and from the city centre in search of food scraps.
Then after a hard day scavenging and begging on the streets, they hop back on the train and return to the suburbs where they spend the night.

How do you perceive your self?
Dove ran an experiment where they asked a woman to describe herself to a police sketch artist, who would draw a portrait based on these descriptions, without seeing the woman.
Then another woman (and sometimes a man) came in and described the first woman, so the sketch artist would draw that picture along side.
When the subject of both portraits viewed them, she realized that her internal view led to a portrait that was in no way reflective of herself but rather the ways in which she critiqued her looks. The second portrait however was more accurate, and to me looked more pleasing.
Even though my daughter is only 5, I'm aware of some of the challenges she will face becoming a woman, and the external influences over her looks, and the way she perceives herself. I think this experiment however commercially motivat... more »
