Ok, this is an all new low in gun nut advertising. 

Watching the Sesame Street song feed on YouTube this morning with the Duckling, and this ad pops up in the middle of Elmo singing Little Butterfly Friend. 

It links to a fundraiser for +Mitch McConnell. 

I'm beyond pissed about this. I'm sure that +Sesame Street would also be irate to know their content is being used to advertise for right-wing gun nuts. 

They couldn't get rid of PBS, so instead they're just trying to compromise the messages of education, friendship, and equal treatment.

The Chief of the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response branch of the U.S. Air Force was arrested and charged with sexual battery in Arlington over the weekend.

Lt. Col. Jeff Krusinski is accused of fondling a woman in a Crystal City parking lot early Sunday morning.

“A drunken male subject approached a female victim in a parking lot and grabbed her breasts and buttocks,” according to a Arlington County Police Department crime report. “The victim fought the suspect off as he attempted to touch her again and alerted police.”

Ok, so I totally applaud the Clinton Foundation and their work. But uh, your email appeal to me today was one of the least likely ever to get clicked on. 

If you opened your email and saw a headline that says Win a trip to Haiti, would you jump all over that? 

Especially if the text in the email followed up saying:

Take the Clinton Climate Quiz by May 1 to test your climate change knowledge. When you do, a tree will be planted in Haiti to support our reforestation efforts. You will also be entered to win a volunteer trip to Haiti to help install solar panels in one of our projects in the Port au Prince area.

That's winning?? A trip to Haiti to volunteer to install solar panels is a win?

Is anyone in the Bay Area interested Maker Faire this year? 

I ask, because its cheaper to get 5 of the Sunday only passes at $15 each, than it is to pay individual day passes for the 2 adults we have going---which means we will have an extra pair of passes. Last year we just sucked it up and made the day of a couple that was in line and hadn't purchased tickets yet. May 18 & 19, 2013

Ok, this is directed primarily to the recent crop of incredibly whiny atheists. 

See, here's the thing, I'm neither an atheist, nor a theist. I'm with Neil deGrasse Tyson on this, except I prefer the only "ist" term used for me is "realist". 

But lately, I've been seeing atheists complaining on LGBTI content, posts about racism, misogyny, homophobia, etc., all with the same comments about how abused they are. Its as if lately the majority of previously intelligent and independent-minded atheists on G+ have become whiny putzes determined to just go on and on about how victimized they are in our society.

Wow. While attempting to create a law enabling any business to discriminate against GLBTI people, WA State Senator Sharon Brown's cosponsor to Senate Bill 5927 Senator Mike Hewitt's office was contacted and had the following response:

Castro asked a staffer at Hewitt's office a simple question: "What are rural gays supposed to do if the only gas station or grocery store for miles won't sell them gas and food?" The staffer, who refused to identify himself, reportedly told Castro that if such a scenario were to unfold, "gay people can just grow their own food."
