The +mention notifications was changed about March 20, 2013
The following explanation is not (yet) covered in the G+ Help Content
Here is my observations regarding +mention notifications
(this applies only to comments on posts not made by you)
1) Previous +mentions are only to be found at
<https://plus.google.com/u/0/notifications/mentions>
as long as they are not yet transformed to "new comment notifications."
2) The transformation of the notification happens as soon as you, and someone else after you, have made a comment on the post.
3) After the transformation, +mentions are to be found at
<https://plus.google.com/u/0/notifications/all>
and now they are quite hard to find, because the "XXX mentioned... more »

Human interaction is very sensitive to lack of response.
Not answering someone can cause huge damage to a relationship, in social interaction as well as in business.
Since March 20 G+ stopped notifying me when someone +mention my name in comments on posts from others.
Update May 9, 2013
This issue has now apparently been repaired
That means that when someone mentioned my name I probably didn't respond, not because I didn't want to, but because I wasn't told.
As a result of this issue, I have now decided to stop my interaction on G+ and deleted all my circles, as I cannot figure out how to interact in a decent way without access to efficient tools.

Homemade music
This tiny little piece of music is 100% improvised.
It is from one of my own recordings made in 2010.
I played a Rhodes Mark 1 Stage 73 Elpiano and a Grand Piano.
One hand on each :)
The video is homemade too (February 2013).
