Broke my phone today...

Dropped my OPO on asphalt today and got pretty nasty damage to the screen... Now I don't have any touch response anymore, so it's new phone for me.

Any recommendations at the moment? Anyone have OP2 invites? Any models to avoid?

Latest disc dyes

Some of the latest dye works I've done... Two Westside Warships, One Latitude64 Fuse, Ruby and Pearl.

Those Latitude64 stamps are really challenging as they either won't come off or then they're so deep stamped that new image spreads into unwanted direction.

Disc dye

Couple free minutes and I managed to do this... While red ink accidentally made one more splash using the old stamp grooves on disc, it suits actually quite well in the image. I'm satisfied despite the error.

Watched Gravity last night.

During simple maintenance flight of Hubble Space Telescope, astronauts end up in debris cloud that breaks their flight back home. Soon they find out that they're adrift in space and must find they way back home...

Great effects, nothing more. Story doesn't hold (if you don't know physics then this doesn't matter) and acting is mediocre. This might be entertaining for sake of space effects and some thrilling moments. Only for people who want to see mainstream sci-fi.

Watched Django Unchained last night.

German bounty hunter buys slave's freedom to help him to find out few wanted men. Soon Django finds out that he has pretty good bounty hunting skills and together they plan to get Django's wife free.

Story flows nicely and acting is decent. Good soundtrack! Modern western with some nods towards old classics. Recommended for Tarantino/western fans.

Watched Terminator Genisys last night.

Skynet, the AI responsible for Judgment day that killed most of people and started long war between humans and machines does last offense before falling. Humans try to stop Terminator sent into past by sending human to stop it. After Kyle Reese arrives into 1984 he finds out that history has already changed from what he had been told...

Ok effects, decent story and decent acting. Practically this is reboot for Terminator franchise by adding several other timelines into known universe. Some stuff is left unexplained and possible sequels are left open. Rather weak movie as Terminator, but decent sci-fi otherwise.

I've been lucky

Couple weeks ago, new summer sausages started to roll onto store shelves. I usually test most of them to find out if there are any really good ones that are invited into my grill during summer.

I found out about one brand new cheese-jalapeno sausage that is collaboration between one traditional meat company and one record label. It was pretty good and contained a competition where you could win cap, t-shirt, cd or festival tickets. I got two shirts and one cap from first three packages. Pretty lucky. Now I have 1/250 of all those shirts...

And for those who don't speak/read Finnish... 'Iso lerssi' translates quite directly into 'big wiener'... ;)

As here is more and more posts about on-going political struggle in U.S., I thought that I should share some of it too. Here's pretty funny report about those election campaigns.

Funny in Finnish, luckily it's subtitled (actual translation!) for English-speaking audiences. And yes, our news reports are like these. ;)

Finnish Milk company tribute to Lemmy

Finnish milk company Valio decided to remake their old (17 years ago) commercial where man walks out of bar and declares that he hasn't never drunk milk.

They got idea to ask Lemmy do the part as Motörhead toured Finland start of December. Lemmy agreed and here's the result. Commerical didn't get aired because star passed away before that.

Got my "Shining" moment today...

While I was shopping for groceries, my wife managed to shut our kid's door for first time. We both presumed that the door wouldn't never shut as the lock was jammed and didn't move. Tonight it moved.

So my wife was locked in with the kids for roughly for a hour. Kids were going into bed while door shut. They were still awake when I came home, but fell asleep while I was breaking & entering into their room for 50 long minutes.. And I made lots of noise hammering, sawing and with an axe. Damn those doors are sturdy!

And yes, I peeked into the hole and made that Shining scene... :D Now I have to find another door that fits into the frame. I hope there is another suitable door lying around in some closet...

Watched Lucky number Slevin last night.

Slevin happens to be in wrong place in wrong time as mob boss wants old debts paid. Soon mistaken identity doesn't mean anything as Slevin is hired for killing rival mob boss' son. Two rival gangsters, one world class assassin, one coroner and Slevin in neck deep of trouble.

Really good plot, decent acting and nice twist. Recommended for all twist or crime movie fans.

Watched War of the Dead last night.

Group of Finnish and American soldiers are headed to destroy enemy bunker without any information about it's past... Soon they contact the enemy and find out that there are something far more deadly than the living.

Plot is pretty ok, acting was bit blunt and setting was decent. Effects were outright horrible and some unintentional comedy moments were also witnessed while watching the film. As Finn, our domestic actors speaking only english (even between them) seemed bit odd. Watch once and forget. For horror fans.

Hacking

Spent last three days learning vulnerabilities, exploits and different methods how to compromise several computer systems. And now I'm scared (and tired) more than ever before.

This was Advanced course, that added more flesh to the essentials course I had earlier. Luckily there was some really good advice and software that I probably can implement into our production environment.

While I now could take over some systems or get information from closed systems, I realize that everybody else could do that too.

We also got short lecture how to create exploit with stack overflow and take control of remote system. That was pretty cool!

Here you can find course outline: http://www.clarifiedsecurity.com/handson-hacking-advanced-training/

Broke my phone today...

Dropped my OPO on asphalt today and got pretty nasty damage to the screen... Now I don't have any touch response anymore, so it's new phone for me.

Any recommendations at the moment? Anyone have OP2 invites? Any models to avoid?

Illallinen - Supper

A week ago there was small film festival in my home town (I didn't know, I might have gone there) and this short film won it's category. Dialogue is in Finnish, but it has subtitles...

Quick dye job

Dyed this one as I wanted to do one smaller image instead of one larger image for whole disc.

And now when I'm watching finished work, it looks like that man is farting fire...

Blood rage

Mailman delivered something today that I've been waiting since March 17... I can't wait to open the boxes and get my hands on those miniatures!

Last dyed disc

I really had to do this... When disc is named 'Leopard', what else can you dye to it than leopard fur pattern? ;) Too bad that there was some ink spreading, making this not that perfect project.
