"I love dramatic photographs" - this is one of my favorites from a trip to Yellowstone. This storm literally blew in in minutes and disappeared just as fast. Good thing I was there to catch the action! Hats off to Sarah Flournoy who patiently waited while we got PELTED with hail.

I caught a few prickly cacti taking this picture, but an old abandoned steel bridge...seemed neat.

"Old Friends" - It's a 57 Chevy! This beauty graced my company's new office complex and I had to stop and take a few pictures. Do any of you remember this car?

This is kind of a strange picture I guess.. The roses along the wooden fence seemed intriguing.

"Eternal Hope" - in this crazy world we live in, sometimes it's good to realize there is always hope for a better day. The sun will rise tomorrow. Happy Mother's Day.

Think about it. When's the last time you saw a cactus? Courtesy of Death Valley 2013.

"Zabriskie Point after a storm" - I was excited to travel back to Death Valley with +Yaser Wassef , +Laura Wassef and their family. On a very lucky choice I decided to fly rather than drive and arrived just after a major storm. Major storms are rare in Death Valley. The light, clouds and all were magical.

"Don't forget to look behind you" - In my last trip to Death Valley I decided to take a shot on my way out to a key area in the salt flats. Notice the unusual fog/mist which settled on Death Valley after the storm. Storms are rare!

"Mono Lake Sunrise" - Earlier this year I decided to trek to Mono Lake north of Death Valley. I almost didn't go out because it was 19 degrees, but whenever I feel like that I always go anyway and every once in a while I get a super nice photograph. This is one my personal faves.

Overcast in Dallas - Had a great time this morning with good friends +Yaser Wassef and +Alex Duncan . Stormy clouds rolled in but I decided to play with my 10 stop ND filter to see how the picture would turn out.

"Little Red Caboose"
It's seems kind of sad that this one beautiful caboose is left to gather rust... oh the stories I'll bet it could tell.

"Storm in Death Valley"
One of my favorite places to visit in Death Valley (secret shown to me by +Colby Brown) is the salt flats at Badwater Basin. While this picture isn't particularly "pretty", I feel it shows an unusual seen in Death Valley...storms. I was fortunate enough to show up during a storm and waited until the sun waned to catch this shot as the storm passed.

"The Long Road"
When you are traveling through Death Valley…. there is a reason they call it Death Valley… there are no gas stations, no food, not much of anything but road.

"Rare moment at Zabriskie Point" - Death Valley
It doesn't rain often in Death Valley, but when it does it's amazing how such a barren wasteland brightens up. This is a sunset shot taken right after a major thunderstorm moved through Death Valley. Special thanks to +Colby Brown for showing me this place!

"The Trip to Mono Lake" - while visiting Death Valley I decided to drive north to Mono Lake and attempt some sunrise pictures. I wasn't ready for the sheer beauty of the Sierra Mountain range during my drive up. I finally stopped and shot this picture out of my window. It's hard to really capture how stunningly beautiful these mountains are. If you look real close you can see a skier.

"Miss Kim" - Having just returned from Death Valley, I was excited to spend some time with the family in Crystal Beach, Tx. While waiting for some fried catfish, I noticed this shrimper and had to run out and snap a sunset photo. Ode to Miss Kim!

"Breaking Dawn" - Secret location, courtesy of a photo trip with +Colby Brown. Whether you are just getting started or an expert, I would highly suggest time with +Colby Brown is well spent. Check out his site at www.colbybrownphotography.com. A special thanks to +Yaser Wassef as well, it was his idea to stand in the water up to my ankles in mud to get this shot! I would also like to thank a photographer +Dave Morrow who is an expert at these type of shots and continually provides inspiration. Processed with Lightroom and +Nik Software

"Mowing the Alamo" - so I crept out early one morning to see how soft light might look on the Alamo and low and behold...there was someone mowing the grass! I guess it all makes sense, but this early in the morning it seemed, well... strange. I'll bet they didn't mow any grass when people were shooting at them!
