If you'd like to get push-notified of future +CogSai episodes, please comment on this post. I'm retiring the old list, to make sure not to broadcast to people who don't want it.
Also, be sure to add +CogSai to your circles. As a Page, I can only add you if you add it first. ;-)

Sometimes a bit of philosophy of mind is very helpful to tease apart a complex phenomenon. ;-) Easy share link: cogsai.com/2
Also: if you want to learn how to set aside your own emotions, Buddhist "non-attachment" oriented meditation techniques are quite effective.

I rather enjoyed participating in this epic hangout, and it made me think of something: +CogSai Live.
I'd like the focus of the videos I make for +CogSai to be more the dense, polished sort that I'm working on with +Henry Reich, focusing on specific concepts.
However, I think it'd be nice to intersperse them with live Hangouts where we talk about some seed topic within the (very broad) realm of the cognitive sciences, and go from there. ("CogSci" = psychology, neuroscience, anthropology, philosophy, artificial intelligence, linguistics, pedagogy, sociology, and all their myriad crossings. And whatever else I feel like, really.)
Some might be like graduate topics seminars, where I discuss a finding in some recent paper with the researcher themselves or with an expert in the field.
Others might be more informal discussion with smart people,... more »
