I've been a Flickr Pro user since 2004. That's why I'm glad to see the long-overdue redesign go live. Flickr had been neglected and allowed to languish for far too many years after it was acquired by Yahoo! and the founders of the company left for greener pastures.

However, it's a fine design. They've left the thumbnail-heavy, whitespace-laden look behind and instead now emphasize the immediacy of the photo itself while surfacing the social interactions around it.

It may at first appear to be a move to simply catch up with Google+ and Tumblr, but it's a welcome one.

Today, in digital identity issues: The couple registered their @SunValley account name first, fair & square, before Sun Valley resorts, but somehow Sun Valley Resorts managed to convince Twitter that the couple was doing "non-parody impersonation" and thus was in violation of Twitter terms-of-use. The SunValley account was then suspended, and the resort took over the account.

The couple is now suing Twitter to get their Twitter handle back.
