Oh wow, I haven't been here at google+ in forever. I have been busy, but busy is good!  Here are a couple of sandhill crane from last week. I watched these birds for hours for several days.

I cherish all my summer pictures, especially since we only have about 5 1/2 hours of daylight in Alaska right now. I remember taking this shot. It had just finished raining. I woke up on the side of a mountain, out in the middle of nowhere in Denali National Park where I take part in the professional photographers program. When doing macro work there, it is important to look up and often around you for grizzlies. The peace on the mountainside is incredible and the wildflowers are abundant towards the end of June. I can't wait until summer, to be in the mountains once again.

This picture makes me feel sadness. I am not sure if it is because the feather if from a chicken that lost it's life that day or because of the shades of blue, or both.

I got this cute porcupine photo while driving up north this summer. I saw it slowly moving through the bushes on the side of the road. I pulled over, tip toed toward it, gently whispering and it let me stay by it for as long as I wanted. Then the crowds started pulling over and crowding in so I moved out of the way so everyone could get a picture. As most of you know, I just love watching wildlife!

This little tree squirrel came up to me as I was taking macro shots of a mushroom. I aimed my macro at it and got a very cute backlit squirrel portrait. :)

 I used to be terrified of hornets. In my childhood, I was playing with some friends in my parents back yard and someone stepped on an old board with a hornets nest underneath. We were stung repeatably for at least 2 minutes all over. I can now get this close and am rewarded with a sweet look for my bravery. Here is to many more close up hornet shots ~raises coffee cup in the air~ :)

This ant caught my eye because it was climbing on some plant leaves, I usually only see them on the ground. I just love macro photography!!!

I absolutely LOVE macro. I have been incredibly busy lately, but as soon as I get a chance, I like to run out to the yard and shoot the macro world.It is very relaxing for me. I was giggling about getting enough photos to last a whole winter of B. Fridays.
