Deer run
This morning before work I was outside with the dogs and 2 deer ran through the yard.
The only camera I had was the old Olympus and it doesn't give very clear shots.
So...This is a so so photo of my dog Baxter with a fun deer run.
He has no fear and I wondered what he thought he was going to do if he caught that deer.
It jumped the fence and was off very fast.

The Weekend Share-a-thon
I'm sharing you!
Reply with a link to your best work and I'll share it!
(But READ the RULES below first)
So I went to my profile this morning and yesterday's post is just gone.
All those wonderful comments from you folks, all your plusses and shares … gone.
I'm really frustrated with this photo upload bug right now so I thought, instead of sharing my work and the liabilities involved with the current #GooglePlusUpdate , I will share your wonderful work until it's fixed.
Here are the RULES
1– Go to your best shot in the lightbox and copy the link in the address bar and put it in the comments here. if the link you've gathered ends in "posts" it will go directly to your profile stream, NOT the image and I won't be able to share your best shot. I won't spe... more »

Cat crossing
At the far edge of the yard
sometimes we get a visitor or two.
A stray dog,a fox, raccoon, and even kitty cats to name a few.
Out looking at birds with the dogs I had my old camera because it has a long lens. The dogs came to attention and caught my eye.
A beautiful momma cat and her baby were just stepping into our yard.
They were about to step into the dogs perimeter.
The momma cat ran off to divert the dogs and the baby stayed hidden in the grass.
The dogs turned and watched the momma cat and I snapped a quick photo of the kitten.
When I got the dogs inside I saw the Momma get her baby and carry on their journey.
At the far edge of the yard...

changing focus
“Reality is a projection of your thoughts or the things you habitually think about.”
― Stephen Richards
This month I have been focused on a goal at work striving to reach a number. Last night we made it.
Today the last day of the month I should be there still pushing.
My boss said we made it, take the day off.
I am a little unfocused and feel like I should be there.
I took several cool shots of drops and drips in the grass this morning but this unfocused artsy one matched my emotions today.
Happy Tuesday and I wish you the best of the best today!!

New dog in town
Behind our house there is a new puppy.
He is a big floppy eared brown and white dog.
Each day at dog potty o'clock in the morning, Baxter watches for the new dog.
The owner is cautious and keeps his puppy close to him.
Baxter watches, hoping the little fella will wander over to the fence line.
I have no way of telling Baxter but if I could, I would tell him soon, very soon he will be big enough to woof with you.
The old dog in town can't wait to sniff and woof the new dog in town.

Looking out my window is just not good enough anymore.

My hair is drenched, my feet are cold but I have gone out,

Sun soaking time is serious business to him.

Quiet Light
This morning before I set off to work I stopped to take this photo.
The morning was quiet. The light coming in even had a quiet feel.
The little green flowers almost at the end of their life gave me one more moment to admire them.
Coming home I couldn't wait to play with the shot a bit.
I played more than a bit.
Again the night is deep and the hour is quiet.

good night....
“Even as a child, she had preferred night to day, had enjoyed sitting out in the yard after sunset, under the star-speckled sky listening to frogs and crickets. Darkness soothed. It softened the sharp edges of the world, toned down the too-harsh colors. With the coming of twilight, the sky seemed to recede; the universe expanded. The night was bigger than the day, and in its realm, life seemed to have more possibilities.”
― Dean Koontz, Midnight

Snippet of my day
+Wray Post is starting a circle for story tellers.
I love telling my stories and love reading yours.
I believe our stories are the fabric of our lives.
Here is a quick silly snippet of my day.
Setting appointments for the car salesman is part of my new job.
Learning that special car salesman language is a perk.
Today a young salesman comes back to my office and said sarcastically,
"Thank you for the one legged customer"
"I said," what...
she only had one leg?"
He laughed.
"No ooo !"
Later someone explained to me that a one legged customer is a wife or husband without a spouse.
I guess they don't buy without their love.
So if you ever hear of a one legged customer now you know.

part of a poem I read today
I am driving; it is dusk; Minnesota.
The stubble field catches the last growth of sun.
The soybeans are breathing on all sides.
Old men are sitting before their houses on car seats
In the small towns. I am happy,
The moon rising above the turkey sheds.
Poem by Robert Bly
