"Autumn Morning Fog" - Vermont
I visited Vermont a couple of years ago and rented a sweet Nikon D3x so I could bracket the heck out of all the shots I took. If I recall, this was 9 bracketed shots from -4 to +4.
That was obviously way overkill but hey, I had the power in my hand and took advantage of it. :-)

"Autumn Morning Fog" - Vermont
I woke up very early one morning a couple of years ago and ventured out in search of a sunrise shot. I had been on Google Earth the previous night and had a rough idea of where I was going to go.
Once I drove within the vicinity of what I had scoped out, I parked my car in a place I probably shouldn't have and began walking towards the direction of the soon rising sun.
I was very disappointed at first because of a heavy, thick fog that enveloped the area, but within a span of 5 minutes, the fog dissipated and I was able to capture this shot.

Tybee Island Sunset - Tybee Island, Georgia
I thought of a cool new quote when I was processing this picture:
"When people are out and about, darken them out." :-)

A view of the Eiffel Tower just as the sun was dipping below the horizon.
I stayed in this location/position for over 3 hours as I snapped away shots during the transition from daytime to sunset to dusk to twilight. This particular image was during the "daytime to sunset" transition.

"Ashley River Sunrise" - Middleton Place, South Carolina
I hade to awaken 45 minutes prior to sunrise in order to get into position to capture this shot. Fortunately, I didn't hit my snooze button too many times and made it just in time. :-)

"Ch-ch-ch-changes"
Hidden meaning?
Artistic expression?
Just a cool leaf I saw?
All of the above?
None of the above?

"Boone Hall Plantation" - Charleston, South Carolina
I visited Boon Hall Plantation with +Curtis Simmons yesterday so we could scope out some photo opportunities. Curtis ended up taking way more pics than I did, which I kind of regret now. This was one of the few I ended up taking and was one of my favorites.
In terms of processing, this was a single RAW file, which I created several virtual copies of inside of Lightroom 4 and then exposure blended them in Photoshop CS6. There were a few tourists which were ever so graciously poofed away with content-aware-fill and then I did some additional processing via Viveza 2, Topaz Adjust, PhotoTools and Color Efex Pro 4.

"Lake Sumter Surprise" - The Villages, Florida
+Curtis Simmons and I visited The Villages the other night and did what people typically do within that community...We rode in a golf cart down to Lake Sumter, got out and walked around with a drink in hand and then made our journey to a location we hoped would reward us with a colorful sunset.
The amazing colors you're seeing in this shot appeared just as the sun dipped below the horizon and only lasted for 3-4 minutes. In fact, we didn't think we were going to see any colors at all leading up to this because of how dark and thick the clouds were in front of the setting sun. But because we decided to stick things out for an extra 5 minutes, I was able to capture this incredible light show.
Hope you enjoy it!!!

"Old Faithful Sunset" - Yellowstone National Park
I ventured on a walk around the Old Faithful area of Yellowstone and happened upon this location which offered a beautiful view of the many thermals that surround the Old Faithful area. And as luck would have it, a gorgeous sunset presented itself.

"Caught up in the Moment" - Central Park, New York City
I had been wanting to take a picture of my daughter reading a book by a tree so that we could order a large print and hang it on her bedroom wall. We were never able to find a good spot near our hometown. But when we visited NYC last year and walked around Central Park, we found the perfect location. And yes, a large print of this picture now hangs proudly in her room.

"Wheel of Fire" - Queenstown, New Zealand
This shot is fresh off the press! I've been waiting on my vehicle to be serviced and like most photographers, I travel with my laptop. So, I've spent the past 30-40 minutes processing this shot.
This was taken at the home of +Trey Ratcliff during his New Zealand Photography Adventure.
What, you don't hire fire dancers to entertain guests at your home? ;-)

This photo should serve as a good reminder that even when it's misting outside, there are still some excellent photo opportunities.

"Looking Up" - Eiffel Tower - Paris, France
This is one of those types of shots where you really wish your camera had an articulating screen to help you with the composition. Because my camera lacks this feature, I had to sprawl out on the sidewalk and contort my head in a most uncomfortable way in order to look through my viewfinder and properly line things up.

"Approaching Sawyer Glacier" - Tracy Arm Fjord, Alaska
I shot this picture whilst on a cruise through Alaska a couple of years ago. Our ship ended up getting the closest to this glacier it had gotten in over 12 years.
