Nature's Whisper of Freedom

the world spins and whirls

A Dance in the Garden

I take a walk through the garden on a quest to find the new blooms for today. Will there be a new color? Will I find something I have never seen before? Will the new plantings put forth a beauty display? Whether they be new or old, I always find sweet and wondrous surprises--sometimes stretching upward and outward to boldly shout their allure and sometimes hidden behind and under, gently peeking out with a shy charm. I am never disappointed. I am utterly awestruck at the magic and artistry of nature's dance.

One of my favorite flowers in the spring is the pink dogwood. It has a softness, a gentle beauty that lasts and lasts. And when the breezes caress its petals, they appear to be buoyant against the sapphire sky--floating on the breath of the wind.

The Secrets Beneath

The secrets of spring emerge from every corner to introduce the rebirth of flora. Behind the stem, a peek of color reveals a soft beauty. On the trees where winter grays and browns prevailed, new colors splash in fuchsia, emerald, and pearl. Clad in green, buds appear and open to reveal all the blush of the rainbow. At once, as the eyes survey the landscape what was once a view of a few dull stains in the spectrum becomes a splatter of saturation that feasts the senses. What is exposed is all that life has to offer beneath the veil of secrecy.

Hello G+....I have been away for a while for a family emergency. Things seem to be better now, so life is back to normal.
As I open my eyes to see, to notice what is around me, there are blooms emerging in every corner of the landscape with colors of gold, magenta, lavender, crimson. How can I not smile.....

As spring's bounty slowly emerges, the buds sprinkle the landscape before the color moves in. Hydrangeas are budding. Spring bulbs are budding. Cherry blossoms are budding. And the dogwood tree is budding. I have always found the buds of the dogwood tree to be almost as beautiful as the blooms. The outer petals of the bud blush with subtle color of what is to come when the flower appears. There is a softness, a pastel glow, a whisper to draw us in for the unveiling of elegance and beauty.

Why Winter Won't Leave

Spring gently knocked on the door of Winter.There was no answer. Spring knocked once again. No answer. Spring blew a soft warm breeze that penetrated the cracks around and beneath the door, and said, "Is anyone there?"
There was a long pause, but then a snowflake slid under the door. Spring picked up the multi-faceted star, and it began to melt in her tepid hands. As it melted, it uttered a whisper, "Winter can't sleep."
And then the snowflake was gone. Spring knelt down by the door and slid her warm and golden hand beneath its frozen edge. She said, "Hello, Winter. May I see you."

Spring saunters in
to color the gray
with hues that brighten
and lighten the departing winter.
Creatures build nests and dens
for new life to begin.
The breezes are warmer,
the aromas are sweet.
The sun, golden and luminous,
seems to glisten in the blue.
With all of this, with life bursting
to be born, to be seen, to live,
there is a flutter of happiness
all around.
