and under gnome shell 3 (debian wheezy) nouveau while idle uses 338MB of ram but Nvidia's drivers at idle use 289Mb

Does anyone know of a presentation software in Linux that allows you to keep the presentation window small and on top of all other programs while doing other things like typing into a terminal or web browser.
I gave my first practice talk for my OSCON talk in July and I got my 3 hour and 30 minute SELinux talk down to an hour and 40 minutes. I still need to strip an hour off of that so I'll be experimenting with a new presentation format where I use lots of demos and speak about the contents on the slides while doing the demos. This way I don't spend time covering slides and showing off what I'm doing. I just put the slide up for people to read the content and move on to the demos while talking.
To do this I need software that allows a couple things.
1) It must either partition the screen or allow for slides to be show on the screen on top of all other... more »

not bad when my xfce instance was using pretty much the same
