Ole Olson54,998It has come to light that Google has started funding and supporting some of the most vile right wing extremist collectives and corporate front groups in America. Join us by changing your avatar and boycotting every single Google service for one day in protest.  *On Wednesday, December 11th make a serious attempt to not use anything Google.* No Google Searches. I follow both of these folks, and have since right after the situation in Ferguson broke.  Talk about projection...and a big dose of bias.

Looks like I'll be on the road tomorrow and for the next few days...I'll have a smart phone and chromebook with me, but the news I share will be light.  Hope nothing really crazy happens, b/c out west, getting connection between towns can be bad and I will feel rather frustrated.

A short trip to bits of Washington State to visit friends and relatives...Yakima, Mossy Rock, possibly Tacoma....a chance to see Mt. St. Helen and Mt. Ranier again....

So when I run a piece of news that records some bad or racist or inhumane practice a politician has done, and someone posts, X has my vote, I cannot help but to assume that the voter shares the same approval of those bad, racist or inhumane practices.

I then tend to be reminded of the opening verse of Psalm 1, which my mother had me memorize when I was just a little thing,  and react accordingly.

Even the indictment in the DuBose shooting, one of the swiftest actions that we’ve seen in years, is fraught with significant issues. Officials in Cincinnati openly worried that the videotape where Tensing shot and killed DuBose looked so bad that a reprisal of the Cincinnati uprising of 2001 would occur.  Prosecutor Joseph Deters’ indictment of Tensing demonstrates that justice for Sam Dubose was not approached with a sense of real moral outrage, but one of expediency — to preemptively quell another uprising. Even when White America does what seems to be right, it is doing it the wrong way. It shouldn’t take the threat of uprisings, civil unrest, civil disturbances, or riots for prosecutors to charge and convict officers of murder.___

quote: Several days ago, perennial presidential candidate Mike Huckabee charged that President Obama was ready to lead Israeli Jews "to the ovens." A few days later, he said he might use not only the FBI but even the US military to prevent abortions. And around the same time, Ted Cruz called Obama the world's biggest funder of Islamic terrorism. There was a day when cracks like these would have stopped the political world in its tracks, spurring transgressive glee from supporters and outrage from liberals and normal people. But this summer, they've struggled to break through. And the reason is obvious: Donald Trump has flooded the market with a new, purer brand of Crazy that has left the other candidates scrambling and basically unable to compete.

Coming on a person's threads to say, "You and your whole cohort are full of excrement" really only shows that:

1) the commenter  doesn't have anything handy to dispute the article

 2) the commenter prefers bully tactics of throwing one's weight around vs proving a point

3) the commenter needs to reinforce his or her worldview with anger because it makes him or her feel better or more secure

4) is insulted that part of the populace doesn't share that worldview

5) doesn't know how to mute posts

6) needs an attention fix.

Possibly, all of the above.

IMHO.

White men are approximately 31 percent of the United States population. And yet, white men are nearly 63 percent of those people who commit mass shootings. Such behavior, among any other group, would be considered pathological and a public health crisis.___
