JONATHAN CHRISTOPHER KENDALL   (1962-2013)

With the greatest of sorrow I, +su ann lim , have to inform you that Jonathan Christopher Kendall, my fiancé and love of my life, died suddenly last night on 15 June 2013.  Despite the incredible efforts of our friends +Suzanne Jacob +Gaynal Brierley , paramedics and ambulance personnel he could not be revived.

Jonathan lived as he believed, telling it like it is, with wit and humour, enjoying life to the hilt, with honour, directness and compassion.  I was incredibly blessed to be the recipient of his immense love, and as each other's beloved, to share unbelievable happiness for too short a time.   Jonathan, I LOVE YOU with all my heart and miss you desperately.

Did Edward Snowden do the "right" thing?

Snowden said that he has voluntarily contacted the newspapers The Guardian and The Washington Post.  These media revealed exclusively the existence of the two spy programs that allow the US government to query the logs of servers in the country and extract information from the stored data to monitor foreign terrorism suspects.

The 29-year-old was working during a decade within the intelligence community.  First he was employed as a computer engineer of CIA in Geneva, and then as a consultant for several companies.  He worked on projects relevant to defense - cooperating with the NSA, as he stated to the “Guardian”.

Messi The Cat is Back!

Almost 4 weeks ago Messi disappeared and couldn't be found. While I was uploading some photos I heard loud and familiar meows and I thought I know this meow. There he was! Hungry and slim, but otherwise in a good shape. We don't know what has happened and where he's been, but we're all happy that he's alive and well as well he can be.

US Government to Monitor 1000s of Telephone Conversations

“President Obama welcomes the public debate about the balance between civil liberties and security. However, he is determined to use all available tools to keep America safe,” said US government spokesman Josh Earnest, on Thursday, aboard the presidential plane Air Force One.

“The top priority of the US President is the national security of the United States. We must be certain that we have the tools we need to face the threats of terrorists,” he added.

“What we do is balancing the priority with the need to protect civil liberties,” said Earnest.

Michael Jackson's Daughter Recovering After Suicide Attempt

Hours after her daughter had attempted to commit suicide on Wednesday, Debbie Rowe, mother of Paris Jackson, received a visit from the police at her home in the city of Palmdale, in the State of California.

The procedure is part of the investigation, which seeks to get clues and information about the reasons that have led the 15-year-old girl trying to take her own life during the night.

According to a source close to the Jackson family, everyone is “shocked” by the incident. “One thing is to say that she would do this.  No one imagined that she would really get on with it. Paris was ready for the summer to get out a bit and spend time with Debbie,”

Control your HOA Live Broadcast using Cameraman
HOA Tips

Hangouts on Air (HOA) are live broadcast video shows... we can now have more control over what is seen by the viewers of our show using the recently updated Cameraman App... http://goo.gl/uY3vD

We now can have a regular HOA experience where the filmstrip is shown below the main video or turn off that filmstrip and thereby have a "Full Screen" video shown to the public. Yes it is dynamic...  you can change in the middle of the broadcast.

We, on the inside of the show, will continue to see the filmstrip but when choices are made to show full screen, the viewers of the show will not see the filmstrip... plus they will see a larger sized video.

Can anyone help?
I'm still not convinced that we are getting the posts of the people that we have circled.
To which end I put all 2,221 people that I have circled into one circle called 'ALL' and for the last week I have been running this alongside the Google 'All'.
I get exactly the same number of posts but the content is different.
There is some crossover but they are still very different and I am missing posts from people that I frequently engage with in both.
(Note that I have all my other circles un checked and muted.)

Compared to a week ago, they are both much better but I am still missing a great deal. The blue xx new button still throws up posts from the day before and many hours before the period that it is apparently refreshing.

How are your streams?

Skype PC Virus

According to an ongoing research held by the antivirus company ESET, the peak of infection occurred last week when thousands of users received messages such “Are these really your pictures?” or “Haha, this strange photo of your profile”, accompanied by a link that actually downloaded the virus.

The company specifies that such malware infects the computer and spreads using the contacts’ list of affected systems by sending the same type of message.  Within a few hours more than 500,000 clicks were added to the virus pandemic originating mostly from Latin America.

 China Sends a Manned Rocket into Space

_ According to the website Space dot com, China is preparing to launch on Friday, June 7, a mission with three astronauts toward the experimental space module Tiangong-1 (Heavenly Palace). Launching a mission in June this year had already been announced at the end of last year by the Chinese government._

The experimental Chinese station module TIANGONG-1 weights 8 tons, has a cylindrical shape with a hatch and couplings at each end. The structure has two compartments, one for storing the payload and the other equipped with computers and control devices of the spacecraft.

I've been a fan of Chris Anderson for some time - for many reasons...

And this video of him discussing Crowd Accelerated Innovation - a self-fueling cycle of learning that could be as significant as the invention of print. 

It's 22 minutes long - but well but well worth spending the time... as he goes into why organisations will need to embrace radical openness  to tap into the power of online video.
