The Nebraska State Recycling Association loves FilterPave! With the help of a Nebraska Dept. of Environmental Quality funded grant the Immaculata Monastery in Norfolk, NE installed 2,000 square feet of FilterPave porous pavement. #green #stormwater #LEED #recycling

Instead of using the words hashtag or pound sign I am going to start using the proper term, octothorpe, to thoroughly confuse the shit out of people.

Wow! Has anyone else noticed that if you take a bunch of pictures in a row (seconds) of the same thing, and they auto upload to G+, then they get grouped together as an animated GIF. Just like this one. It's not a great GIF but just an example of what I'm talking about. Cool stuff.

Microsoft revealed their newest console this week: XboxOne. Or as my mom will call it, a new Nintendo.

It looks like giant photos are what "Social Media Professionals" are going to start posting frequently. They take up the entire screen when you're scrolling. Text posts like this will get buried between giant photos.

2) Who on Earth was actually endorsing this talent?

Daughter watching Cat In the Hat. They're visiting beaver city and said, "look at all those beaver holes!" I giggled uncontrollably. Sometimes I'm 12.

Did you know that some jellies and jams use 3 types of sweetener? If they just used sugar it would be the first thing on the label. They split it into 3 things so they can put fruit at the top of the label. Check out these other sugar hiding foods. #health #dyk #TIL #food

I would like to put a como team together to develop a service for home buyers. In an oversimplified nutshell it is a 4sq like app (and so much more) for buying a house. It consists of app and a website. There are two revenue streams: advertising on the home buyer side and subscriptions from Realtor side (more info to interested parties).
I have extensive knowledge of the real estate industry and profession. I own a brokerage, have been a director for the MO Association of Realtors, and was recently on the communication committee for the National Association of Realtors.
My marketing skills are great but my dev skills are hobbyist at best. We can discuss team members working for equity or fee. I prefer a longer term relationship than just build to suit so everyrhing continues to improve.
Probably need 3 or 4 people. Who's interested in hearing more?

I have some killer ideas for Google Glass real estate apps. Augmented reality staged homes anyone? Augmented repainted walls? You dont have to leave it to the buyers imagination anymore.

This is a really cool site combines images and music to create whatever mood you need. I like the inspire setting. You can also create your own "mood boards."

Turned on the TV and a show about wood working is on. Can't change the channel. Makes me want to go out and buy a bunch of wood tools and do man shit. But I'd probably lose a finger, so I'll just sit here and watch.

"Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I want to change myself." - Rumi
This is along the lines of the Christian prayer about accepting things you cant change and changing the things you can change. I think Rumi's is a little more simplified and easier to get your head around. Good advice regardless which religion you choose to learn it from.

Time is just something we made up to try and make sense of things. Understanding that time is a man made thing is one of the most difficult things to get your head around. Sure there are patterns in nature such as the moon orbiting earth and the earth orbiting Sun. However, the moon doesn't know what a month is no more than the Sun knows what a year is.
If time is man made then that means time travel is un-natural!

Does anyone else feel like this North Korea missile situation could be a misdirection tactic? I understand we're talking about the craziest country on Earth. But are they crazy enough to think that by creating a missile that might be able to hit Hawaii they can create any sort of positive outcome? That the 49 other states they can't touch aren't going to do anything if they launch a missile at us?
Modern warfare is all about technology. But everyone is still focused on bombs and guns. One strategy to win a war is starve out your opponent. In this day and age that's the equivalent of taking out databases and credit card networks.
If you go back to the last time North Korea tested a rocket (2009) you find something interesting. During the time they were threatening to test and the month after several high profile websites around the world were attacked, and many... more »

International Dark Sky Week
In 2001, “The First World Atlas of the Artificial Night Sky Brightness” reported two-thirds of the U.S. population and more than 50% of the European population had already lost the ability to see the Milky Way with the naked eye (http://bit.ly/16BdS69). The report also showed that 63% of the world population and 99% of the population of the European Union and the United States (excluding Alaska and Hawaii) lived in regions where the night sky is brighter than the threshold for light-polluted status set by the International Astronomical Union.
In 1994, an earthquake knocked out the power in Los Angeles. Many residents called local emergency centers reporting a strange “giant, silvery cloud” in the dark sky. That giant, silvery cloud was the Milky Way, which many residents had just seen for the first time.
