I'm going to my first Derby Bout!

My sister, Hazardous Kimical joined the team this year and this is her first at home bout. I'm so excited I can't wait to see her! She skates with the Battleground Betties. Joining the team was something she has wanted to do for a long time. Now she's on the team and skating tonight and she is absolutely thrilled. I am so proud of her!

My flowers

I wondered out yesterday to check on the flowers in my yard and found these lovely blooms. As we've gotten warmer and warmer, more flowers have bloomed. Hopefully, I haven't missed any! We have some really hot weather on the way for the next few days so my roses will start blooming too. I can't wait to show you guys my roses!

Post-Op Update - 3 weeks

Having a really rough day today. There's some weird pain around my belly button and I don't know what it is. It really feels like something is poking me on the inside. My skin in that area feels like it's sunburned and is very sensitive. I put a call in to the dr this morning but haven't heard back yet.

I'm still getting tired really easily and my emotions are all over the place. It feels like no one understands. I may have energy and feel good in the morning but by the time night rolls around, I'm wiped out and in pain. And it can be up and down from one day to the next. Monday, I slept most of the day and hurt all day, Tuesday I felt great and got a lot done, Yesterday I felt ok in the morning but was miserable by dinner and so tired. Great game! Go Hoppers! Wooster had a great diving catch in the bottom of the 9th to help save the no-hitter too. Last night's win also put the Hoppers in 1st place in the SAL League. The Greensboro Grasshoppers will take on the +Hickory Crawdads Baseball Club at 11 am again today. Can they hang on to 1st place?

Does anyone else find themselves hanging out on other social networks more lately? I used to almost completely ignore Twitter (except during baseball season) but now I can't seem to get away. And I can't seem to focus long enough on G+. I realize I just had major surgery and I'm having difficulty focusing everywhere but why can I focus on Twitter and not G+?

Any ideas?

Post-op Day 14

I'm sooooo bored! I'm about to go insane!

I still can't do much so I'm limited on what I can find to keep me occupied. I can't walk very far or fast. I can't lift anything very heavy, no bending, and I need to sit on something pretty soft or it gets uncomfortable pretty fast. I still nap pretty often but I think that's becoming more of a habit than a necessity.

Still can't drive and riding in a car can be extremely uncomfortable with all the potholes on our roads. (By the way, I have noticed that most of the holes and bumps on our streets are on the passenger side where I'm sitting).

There is less than nothing on tv during the day and as much as I love watching HGTV and DIY, I've noticed that they show the same shows and same episodes over and over again and after the first time.... it's... more »

Good Morning Everyone!

I'm still not back 100% but I'm slowly getting there. It's amazing how badly your brain works when your body is concentrating on healing another part of your body. I was left alone for the first time yesterday and I tried to do some light cleaning. I did a little too much because I was really hurting last night.

I'm not on the pain meds as much anymore so the fog is slowly clearing but it's still there. You would not believe how many words I've have to go back and fix just from these few sentences. That's one reason I haven't posted very much on here. Well, that and picking up my laptop is still pretty hard. Who knew my tiny little laptop was so heavy?

2 Days Post-op Realizations

I feel like I'm 9 months pregnant again!

It's amazing the things you have trouble doing after surgery.

Gas-x is the most important thing to have besides good pain meds.

No matter how short you are, your feet are way to far away to put on socks.

There really isn't any need for a bra but you'll wear one anyway so make sure you have a comfy one.

The most import thing to remember though is that there is absolutely no comfortable position... anywhere

Surgery was great, rest of the time in the hospital was a pain in the.... well just a pain!

Warning!!!!

I'm a huge baseball fan and I absolutely love our local minor league team. I'll probably be posting quite a bit about baseball so if you'd like to see it, let me know. If I start to get irritating with the baseball stuff, just let me know. I'll try not to post too much to public or to all of my circles and irritate everyone. :)

The Greensboro Grasshoppers are the Single-A team for the Miami Marlins. We have a beautiful stadium, a great staff, and tons of fans supporting our team.

Last year the Grasshoppers won the South Atlantic League championship which means we're getting a whole new team this year. I'll be sad to see some of our players go. Following them on Twitter has been... interesting. But I'm also looking forward to meeting the new players and seeing the guys from last year move on in their careers.

Fringe - episode 4.18 "Nothing As It Seems"

Did anyone else see a familiar scene in this Fringe episode? That’s right, the plane scene was almost exactly the same from a previous episode (major plusses to anyone who can tell me which episode) but there was one small difference. The man changed into the monster and the plane crashed.

Peter remembered the case and gave them information from when he and Olivia had investigated it which helped them to find another person infected with the virus. Unfortunately, when they went to find the second person, someone from their team got infected by a scratch. Hmm… the green eyed monster might possibly turn in to a monster in real life.

There wasn’t a lot in this episode about Olivia and Peter, more about how everyone else is dealing with it. For Olivia, the FBI didn’t take it too well. In fact, most of thepeople ... more »
