Lucban Longganisa with Sinangag and Itlog (Longsilog)

"Silog" or short for SInangag (fried rice) and itLOG (egg) is a favorite breakfast dish in the Philippines. It varies depending on the main viand which can be:

Long-silog (Longganisa or sausage)
Tap-silog (tapas or cured meat)
Bang-silog (bangus or milkfish)
Hot-silog (hotdog)
Chic-silog (chicken)
...and the list goes on... :-)

This version of Longsilog comes from the province of Lucban, south of Manila. The Longganisa or sausage is made of garlic, pork, and spices. Hope you can try one!

On stand by

Here's one of the first long exposure shots I took years ago with my first DSLR. I just made it in b&w today. I didn't know much about shutter speed, aperture, or ISO at that time (well even now), but I was pleasantly surprised at the result of this one. Plus, I will never forget this picture, because it was when my big brother taught me how to get this particular kind of shot. It was a bonding moment though short, but still a time well spent.
You may find your days busy, but if you can, please try to find some time to hang out with friends or family even just for a while. They're just there on stand by.

Occasionally, birds hangout at our balcony and this one is no different from them. I 'm not sure what kind of bird it is (is it a pigeon?), but it seems that someone takes care of it because of the tags around its ankle/feet.

A Great Start

I'm still figuring out the controls of the Fuji X-10 and the different shooting modes. All I can say is that it is a very powerful camera considering that it's a point & shoot! Here are snapshots of the day. There was no post-processing done except for the one at the church. I tried to straighten the subject/shot because I took it while inside a moving car. But the rest are all SOOC. Amazing!

This is one of the first carpark buildings in the Philippines which was probably built in the 70s or 80s. Today is its last day of operation. I'm not sure if it will be demolished to give way to a new condominium building.
