The city burns

Hi G+ friends,
I'm so sorry for haven't posted any photos for a while, but I had a crisis of rejection due to my job that in the last months was really hard. Now I'm in holiday so hopefully I'll have time and want to do a lot of photos.

Smoking

Hi G+ friends,
today I share with you this photo in which the wind push the smoke coming out from the summit craters of Etna toward the little coastal town of Capo Mulini in the east coast of Sicily. Very often, when there is no clouds in the sky, the Etna's smoke, raising until 4000 m over the sea level, catches the sun beams in the golden hour giving such a magnificent spectacle like this. I hope you like it.

Acqua Grande - Timpa di Acireale - Sicily

Dear G+ friends,
Today I share with you this photo of a cliff called "Acqua Grande" in the protected area of Timpa in Acireale (Sicily). To take this photo I had to climb on a big rock beyond the coast line, risking to fall into the sea. But this story has an happy end because I took the photo without any damage. Purple Sky over the Timpa

Hi G+ friends,
today I share with you this purple sky over the coastal reserve called "Timpa" in the East coast of Sicily. I had already taken a photo of the same subject in the same day, but the previous one was taken about a quarter of an hour before. Since I started to take photos in the "twilight zone", I learnt that it is important to be patient: just few minutes during the sunset are enough to change dramatically the sky. So, this is the result of my "patience". I hope you like it.

Capomulini (Sicily)

Hi G+ friend,
I took this photo yesterday trying to anticipate the curse of workers: when you have to work the wether is beautiful, when you have free time the wether sucks. I've been a lot busy with my job and still are, but from tomorrow I'll have a bit of free time. The problem is that tomorrow will arrive here in Sicily the bad weather and will remain for at least a week. "Okay", I said myself, "this time I'll win", so, despite the busyness, yesterday I found half an hour of time to go out and take this photo. I hope you like it :)

Wild Purple

Hi G+ friends,
lately, thanks to +Stuart Williams , a lot of people has circled me, so I wish to thanks everybody by posting a photo I took yesterday near home. I'm a math teacher and the end of the semester doesn't allow me to go out to take photos as I would, but yesterday, looking through the window, I saw this wild sky, so I felt obliged to go out and capture it with my camera. I hope you like it.

Acitrezza - Sicily

Of the coast of Aci Trezza are three tall, column-shaped islands. According to local legend, these great stones are the ones thrown at Odysseus in The Odyssey. The islands are referred to as the "isole dei ciclopi" (islands of the Cyclops, or Cyclopean Isles) by locals. This compliments the notion that the Cyclops once had a smithy below Mount Etna, which looms over the village to the northwest.
