Some of my circles here are full of extremely private people who don't like to be followed by people they don't know.  So my question to you is:

Do you use Google+ more like Facebook (where you want to only interact with people you know already) or like Twitter (where you're probably being followed by lots of people you don't know but don't need to reciprocate)?

Please help.


I need information on how to register a car in California while it's out of the state (in New York with me).  The car has never been there and has never had a California smog check.  If you have any ideas or know anyone who might, please please please let me know.

Full story: I'm a student in New York and drove my Miata out here from California.  Earlier this year an SUV driver crashed into me and totaled my car.  I bought a replacement Miata in Massachusetts, but the California DMV doesn't want to let me register it without a smog check, which I apparently can't get out of state.  For various reasons it has to be registered in California, I cannot register it as a New York vehicle.  The car is currently insured with my regular insurance, but only on the condition that it is registered imminently.  I don't want to have todrive ... more »

Here's an idea for +Food Network to make their shows more interactive.

Let's say I'm watching Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives.  The place +Guy Fieri is checking out looks great, but I'm not sure where it is or what it was called.  How handy would it be if they put a QR code in the bottom corner of the screen that I could scan to pop up the name and address in Maps on my phone?  But no, what they want me to do instead is go to the website and search for the episode to figure out the information on my own.  Hint: my chances of doing that are hovering somewhere around zero.

Google is renewing their Don't Be Evil stance.

Google won't sue anyone using their pledged patents for making/distributing/using free or open source software.  The patents are now considered to be for defensive purposes only, i.e. to protect against outside litigation.  If Google sells or transfers any of the patents, they will require all subsequent owners to abide by the same pledge.

I wonder how Cupertino is taking this.

I've started to notice a trend on posts like those from +The Verge asking if people are planning to get a Galaxy S4.  More and more I'm seeing people say they won't get anything but a Nexus device, even though the hardware may be less impressive that of the latest flagship phones.

What the best and worst mileage you've gotten out of the same vehicle?

With my last Miata, I hit 40 mpg (17 km/l) driving across America, but toward the end of its life I was getting as low as 18-19 mpg (about 8 km/l) in winter in New York.  My new one did 33 mpg (14 km/l) on the drive to New York, and is now getting about 23 mpg (10 km/l) puttering around town.
