Hello Glass Explorers! I have a gift for you this morning! :)
-Please read entire post
I almost decided to not launch this today, because I had a last minute problem with all of the colored Glass icons, but I stayed up till 4 rebuilding them.
Anyway....the Glass Icon Packs are now ready...I made a spur of the moment decision yesterday that the paid versions should resemble the different colors of Glass, but I have more colors coming soon.
Also, I will be adding new icons weekly.(Except this week, because I will be on vacation lol). So please request any apps you want themed, it will help me out a lot. And if core apps(Calendar, Calculator, Camera, Contacts, Clock, Downloads, Email, Gallery, Messaging, Settings, and Voice Mail) aren't working, please let me know your device/manufacturer and I will tell you how you can help me fix that.

3 Months #throughglass ~ Breaking Glass
Ah, it seems like yesterday bringing Glass home for the first time. Showing it off to my friends and family everyone loved it, some even asked to pet it. I would take it for my daily walks, take it on a bike ride, we even flew a helicopter together. I would come to find out that with Glass, I appreciated life a little better. I watched it settle in, even saw the beginnings of something special in my life. Things never looked more promising... then it took over my life. Its everywhere, even when its not there. I hear that notification ding, it haunts me like the phantom vibration of my cell phone. I find myself looking up at precisely a 30 degree angle when looking for the time, yes even when I don’t have it on. Why don’t have the device on yet? Why am I touching my right temple right now? Its just a simple conversation with friends, one doesn’t need f... more »

Root 101: $169 +CyanogenMod or +Paranoid Android 10.1 tablet
Over at Indiegogo, there's currently a project to get a cheap ($169) 10 inch Android tablet running one of the most popular custom ROMs right out of the box.
The specs aren't the greatest...especially the display. However, you can't complain too much when you're talking $169 for a ten inch tablet.

Huawei reveals latest version of Emotion UI in new video
If you love +MIUI ROM for your favorite Android device, you're going to love Huawei's Emotion UI. Customizability and simplicity certainly seem to be the focus of Huawei’s video preview of the latest Emotion UI. An improved home screen, dubbed UniHome, combines the settings and app drawer for quick access to application shortcuts and toggles.

Let me know what you think. As a former fan of MIUI, I like it.

Several members of the original Glass team came to Google from academia and now we’re thrilled that Glass is going back to universities. We have a new group of academic Explorers who will be showing us what Glass can do in the areas of accessibility, health, sports and education. Over the next few months we'll be highlighting these researchers and sharing some of the exciting work they’ll be doing with Glass.

Moto X with US Cellular supports passes by the FCC
When Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside sat on stage at D11 a few weeks back, he confirmed that his company would “broadly” distribute their next wave of smartphones. With today’s FCC filing of the Motorola XT1055 headed to U.S. Cellular (LTE band 12), we now have at least four variants of this phone confirmed for U.S. carriers.

Public Restrooms
I have now been in exactly 100 different public restrooms wearing Glass (I waited till 100 for easy statistics). I have never removed Glass from my face and in exactly zero of them has there been an issue. In fact, I don't see how I could possibly invade anyone's privacy. I guess I could walk over to them and stare down at their junk. That would be invasive without Glass.
Perhaps a locker room where people casually walk around naked would be different, I guess my gym is just a little nicer than that.
I've often seen it written that someone will punch a Glass wearer in the face for wearing them in the restroom. I propose that anyone stupid enough to think their privacy is being invaded in the restroom should be punched in the face.

It's no secret that Windows Marketplace is lacking apps. The Microsoft ecosystem is quite small compared to Android and iOS. Microsoft is reportedly paying some companies $100,000 or more to build apps for its mobile OS in hopes to level to app playing field a bit.

According to industry insider @eveaks, these are the Moto X specs
1.7GHz dual-core MSM8960 Pro processor
720p display
2GB RAM
16GB internal storage
10MP rear camera; 2MP front camera
Android 4.2.2
I'll be honest, the 720p display saddens me a lot. I need a 5" screen with 1080p. The Snapdragon S4 Pro processor is fast enough. I don't mind that.
What do you think of the supposed specs?

Supposed New Nexus 7 supports Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile LTE networks

Oh, Microsoft. Microsoft FINALLY launches Office for iPhone but fails to launch it without a required Office 365 subscription. To make matters worse, there's no iPad version at this time. An Android version is set to launch sometime this year as per previous reports.
The bottom line here is: too little, too late.

Samsung’s craziness visualized: 26 screens in one image
See the full infographic inside the post: http://goo.gl/i9gwa
It’s no secret that Samsung doesn’t believe in the “one size fits all” principle. The Korean giant prefers to carpet bomb the market with as many devices as possible, in an effort to fill every imaginable niche and put a Samsung device in the hands of, well, everyone. And, for the most part, this somehow inelegant strategy has been paying off nicely.

Notifications that sync across devices, and a new Android app
Starting today, Google+ notifications are much easier to use across mobile and desktop. In particular:
- When you read a notification on one device, we'll mark it as read on your other devices
- Likewise: dismissing a notification (with a swipe or a click) does so everywhere, so you can say goodbye to annoying repeats
We've also updated the look and feel of Google+ notifications, including:
- A new bell icon (in the Google Bar, and in the mobile apps) that lets you know if anything's waiting for you
- An updated notifications tray that separates unread from previously-read items
We're rolling out these notifications improvements gradually — first on Android and the web, then on iOS. In the meantime, we're also releasing a new Android app that i... more »

HTC One Mini is real
The HTC One Mini is real, sports a 720p 4.3 inch display and a Snapdragon 400 SoC. It looks exactly like the HTC One, only smaller. If a 4.7 inch phone is too big (not big enough for me) then maybe a 4.3 incher is more up your alley? Either way, this Android phone will help HTC compete with the Galaxy S4 Mini.

Easy privacy, coming soon.
I'm working on a new feature that will hopefully make it's way into CM. It's called "Run in Incognito Mode". It's a simple privacy feature designed to help you keep your personal data under control.
I've added a per-application flag which is exposed via a simple API. This flag can be used by content providers to decide if they should return a full or limited dataset. In the implementation I'm working on, I am using the flag to provide these privacy features in the base system:
* Return empty lists for contacts, calendar, browser history, and messages.
* GPS will appear to always be disabled to the running application.
* When an app is running incognito, a quick panel item is displayed in order to turn it off easily.
* No fine-grained permissions controls as you saw in CM7. It's a sin... more »
