This image exploded on my Blog last night and made it to the Tumblr Radar.
I had very mixed feelings about this image, and the previously posted ariel shot taken a few moments prior to this one. They were shot on a Canon G12, a camera that I purchased to shoot Time-lapses, but turned out to be a great camera for "in a pinch" situations.
This was shot through the back seat window of a DeHavilland beaver. A plant that is cramped to begin with, but know has 4 passengers, 1 pilot, and a ton of gear in it. Trying to maneuver a DSLR with a lens on it is a challenge to say the least. I can't tell you how many times I have been jolted forward and whacked the lens on the window of the plane.
Between the G12 and the Pure app on my spare iPhone, I got some surprisingly good images from the air last year without having to open up the pelican case and get my DSLR out... more »
